I know you can get wine at cost-u-less and K-mart on St. Thomas, but are there any stores like the Starfish Gourmet Shot on St. Thomas that you can get maybe something a little more special.

Capt. Jay mentioned Crown Bay Marina a while back when we were looking for the good stuff. Beer, that is.

He's talking about Gourmet Gallery. Quite and extensive collection. There is one in Havensight as well.

And Marina Market in Redhook used to have a nice selection - not sure if this is still true though - anyone been there recently?
In the Gourmet Galleries I would tend to avoid the older whites (they do have some stock that is past its prime usually - white burgundies, etc.) and on older reds make sure to check the level of wine in the bottle first (and I mean older - they have bottles from the 70s, etc.). If you are into serious wine though you will be surprised at some of the things you can find there though - really big California Cabs, etc. that are definitely out of stock everywhere in the states may still be available there. Definitely worth browsing -

I did not stop this past trip, but we always used to go to the Marina Market in Red Hook for nice wines before Starfish Gourmet opened.

Marina Market had a wide selection of both beer and wine (actually alcohol wasn't bad either) in November. Would definitely make a stop there on the way to the ferry to check it out.

Marina Market opened a gourmet wine store right across from the "large" Marina Market and they carry a more upscale selection than what is found in the "large" store.
