Well Deb and I had a half hour wait at the Ferry Terminal in Red Hook the other day and noticed this in the back corner. I went over and talked to the manager, Valerie Mark, she assured me that they are selling for the same prices as downtown and will give a 15% discount for four bottles or more. The phone number is 340-715-2054. It these tough times a penny saved is a penny earned and the prices are surely less than on St John. The flavored Cruzans were $9.00 a bottle without the discount applied.

I was just looking at your pictures of the sailing trip on flicker. I think you should do a little trip report on the forum for us :) . It was a vacation after all 8) .

This is super-exciting news to me, because sometimes I just can't make it downtown to buy my booze, and they really do have the best prices.

The woman running this stand came over to us with a flyer and explained the discount and offerings while we were waiting for the Red Hook ferry. They do have a nice selection and great prices. We couldn't buy anything though--if we had one more bag to carry we would have tipped over!

Now we all have another reason to go carry on only, I guess. :D

Thanks for the tip captainjay.

Are those prices simmilar to the airport liquor store? Always up for saving pennies where we can, and using them to extend oue next trip to STJ!

captainjay: We discovered them last fall. It was a good deal and worth schleping the four bottles along with our other stuff on the ferry.

I usually plan to take the downtown ferry and get my booze at the store there, but this is very handy to know about.

Any idea on how the prices compare to Cost-U-Less?

Prices at AH Rise are a few dollars cheaper than the airport store. You pay for the convenience of picking it up at the airport on your way home rather than lugging it to the airport. We have done the airport store in the past, but our last flight out was early and before they opened at the airport. Bought downtown instead and really glad we did. Had a special on Crown and it ended up being $15/liter. They would have been $20/liter at the airport. 10 bottles X $5= $50 savings. Yeah, we will be buying from the downtown store from now on 8)
