I have been out of the business for 7 years. 3 years with BMS and 9 with Abbott. Sales trainer for a while.

Thinking about working part time and wondering if anyone has done anything interesting with their experience...don't think I want to rep again, but just curious with all the forum members-- if any of you were ever drug reps?

djmom,
I worked for BMS, too. (neuroscience/infectious disease---The Stadol Nasal Spray, Serzone, Buspar, Cefzil days) I left them in 2001 for a medical device company. Since having a baby 3 years ago, I am only doing contract with that company now on an as needed basis. It works out really well. I don't know what is available on the pharmaceutical rep side. Good luck. I'll let you know if I hear of any opportunities.

Hey Kellyanna,
How funny, I forgot all about Stadol NS. It is so terrible that I can't remember much about it. I used to work with Mead Johnson Labs (division) and we must have had that for a while. I have sold so many drugs thru the years I have drawn a blank. That is scary. I think it was right before I quit to go to Abbott.

Anyways, I would just love it if someone is doing something related that is really cool that I never thought of. I absolutely loved the business, but I just don't think I have it in me to be a rep. Charlotte was crazy back when I was a rep and I have heard it is worse now- most practices don't even allow sampling anymore. I don't know if it is like that everywhere...

Anyways, I figured there had to be some of us in the forum. Better than politics, huh?
