Cabin Fever Videos

Every year about this time my husband and I get a bad case of cabin fever. Our favorite remedy is to make a couple of drinks (I'm thinking "painkillers" this year) and dig out our DVD of "Captain Ron." It is just a nice little escape from winter and for a couple of hours we can be back in the Caribbean. This year, however, I don't think one video is going to be enough. Anyone have other suggestions? I remember seeing a Robin Williams movie where he runs a resort, but I don't know the name. Any ideas you might have will help make this long wait bearable. (St. John in April. Woo-hoo!!)

Dusty Pete, Can't help with the movie but I understand your pain. I needed a caribean fix so I took the wife to Cheeseburgers in Paradise tonight. We had a rum runner to start things off and finished with key lime pie. Can't wait until March.

Dusty Pete - The movie you're thinking of is "Club Paradise" - a classic for sure!

Another good one for mindless (really mindless) entertainment (good shots of STT & STJ, though) is Weekend at Bernies II

And, Six Days, Seven Nights

It's 11 degrees here this morning - time to get out these movies for the weekend, I think!

Okay Joshie. Next snow storm I am putting the video on the dash of my truck. I will take a ride around town and edit some music to it. I will also make sure to video tape the people braking their backs with the shovels in hand.

Don't worry, bout a ting, cuz every little ting, is gonna be alright...

Fool's Gold (I think) with Matthew McConaghey (sp?) and Kate Hudson was not a good movie per se but it was sooo tropical. Beautiful water and scenery.

Deep Calm with Nicole Kidman is a really creepy sailing thriller.

I prefer epic films that really grasp my brain and take me away- The Color Purple and Out of Africa for example.

The first Pirates of the Carribean is good too.

Great suggestions!! I knew I could count on you guys. I think we'll start with "Club Paradise" and a little of that key lime pie.

Don't forget "the Four Seasons", with actual St. John, Congo and Lovango footage for a good 15 minutes or so...
