A conservative friend of mine sent me this link in an e-mail. If you loved George Bush, you can thank him. (No, this isn't a joke)

Actually Joshie, I told my wife the day of the inauguration that I wanted to send President Bush a hand-written letter of thanks for his service and dedication. If only I knew how to get it to him...

Sox, if you address it to George Bush, Crawford, Tx., I'm sure he'll get it. There can't be too many former presidents in Crawford.

Thanks for asking SJ! The trip pretty much sucked. I'll try to put a mini trip report together, but it's going to be pretty negative. The Puerto Vallarta I saw was no better than Cabo, except I really like Cabo. Same vendors selling the same crap. My boss just wanted to hang at the hotel and play cards and it was like prying a nail out of concrete to get her to go downtown. I hate resorts and the Westin is AWFUL. I would never stay there again unless every other hotel in Puerto Vallarta burned down!

But I'm not bitter or anything!

Serves me right for not doing my research beforehand!

Just got our 2008 Oct rankings (sales)...Our top 15 in the nation win our "Presidents Cup" trip...I am ranked......16th. But, we still have two months worth of rankings to see. My question is to anyone more familiar with Mexico than I am - our trip is in June to the Ritz in Punta Mita, Mexico. Anyone familiar with that part of Mexico or that resort?

Thanks! BTW, if I don't win this year, I think I'm gonna lose it. Last year the top 18 won a trip to Nevis, and I finished 20th. Can't catch a break.

I wasn't aware that the Ritz was in Punta Mita yet.. ? Anyway, I visited Punta Mita last winter and actually may be going there again next month. Friends have been renting a villa there for the past few years; they love it. The Four Seasons, newly-opened St. Regis, and a lot of villas are within the very large Punta Mita gated community.

It's still very very quiet there, lush, nice, everything you would expect from that kind of a place. I especially liked visiting the little surfing towns nearby, such as San Francisco and Sayulita. In the little town of Punta Mita, there was a lot of local color and some good restaurants... people very friendly everywhere we went. Everything was super clean.

Our last day we visited Puerto Vallarta; it kind of gave me the creeps. Very high-rise in parts, with a long long pier filled with sculptures that reminded me of Edward Gorey etchings.

Sox, my husband won a national sales contest in 2005 and that's how we got introduced to the Virgin Islands. We got a week at Frenchman's Reef on STT. Good luck, get those numbers up! :)

Maryanne, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks PV is sort of icky. Good description of the sculptures, I couldn't think of what they reminded me of and you nailed it with Edward Gorey!

CG...That's a great way to get introduced to anywhere...On the company!!!

Unfortuately for me, due to the fact that our numbers are a couple of months behind (in other words, we are only now just starting to see our Nov 08 numbers)...The numbers are in the tank. So there's nothing more I can do other than to wait and see! But thanks for the wishes.

Maryanne...thanks for the thorough description...I've always been a little hesitant to got to Mexico for safety reasons (and the drinking water), but your description sounds like it's a great place (except Puerta Vallerta - which we probably wouldn't venture into anyway).

Thanks for the info!

I believe the end of Feb...I'll let you know, not terribly optimistic though. I really need a couple of people that are currently in the top 15 to have had really crappy Nov and Dec's. Thanks for the well wishes!
