Hi!
I've been incognito for the past year+ (Actualy couldn't remember user name or password and too lazy to figure out how to get back. Finally contacted Anthony no problem.
This is out 10th consectutive trip(every year I say we can't afford it but by this time of year we're booked) and have been well aided by this forum.
We're bringing our daughter and son-in-law for first time. Son-in-law is great guy marathon runner etc. BUT loves (or lives)to eat.
What's everyones opinion on the most filling restaurants?
For the first time we're planning on shipping down packages of supplies. Is it worth it? What's the procedure and cost?
Thanks
Charlie

I personally don't get the whole idea of sending stuff down unless you're trying to go carry-on only and even then I question where it's worth the cost if all you're sending is lotion and shampoo.

One of the best restaurants to go to where the portions are large is Cafe Roma. Uncle Joe's Bar-B-Q would be another place where your SIL should be able to fill up on their portions. We also love Rhumblines.

Hi Charlie,

Here is a thread on this topic that I started last week. Should answer most questions you have.

We are doing carry on only (2 adults and 4 kids ages 8-12) so that is why we are shipping ahead. In the box - snorkel gear, shampoos, bug spray, body wash, flashlights and towels for Maho, valentine's day stuff for the kids and a football for the beach. Cost to ship via priority, insured and delivery receipt is approx $45 from MA - $10 for Connections to receive and store.

Good luck!

Can you approximate the size of the box you shipped for $55?

The box was 24x16x12 and weighed 35 pounds.

I sent a large flat rate box USPS for just $13 (packaging is free at the PO). It was crammed full and it's worth it to me since I only do carry on.

All: Just thought you might be interested. My package (1 of 2 anyway) arrived in STJ today. That is a 3 day total time from Massachusetts to the Island. I don't know if it helped, but I DID use stamps.com (already had an account)and I printed a bar-coded label.

Keeping my fingers crossed on package #2 . . . .
