We (two adult couples) were at Carnival Beach House in Dec. '07. The absolute best part of this villa is the pool, it's larger than most other villas and has a fantastic view. The beach below, in my opinion, is more rocks than pebbles, making beach-sitting difficult but snorkeling is good. When we were there, a new house was being built nearby and there was some construction sounds but not enough to be annoying. I would think the house is complete by now.

The suites are exactly the same, one of top of the other, with separate entrances. Each are nice, comfortable, not very large but both have outdoor areas (patio/balcony). Each includes a kitchenette with one burner stove, microwave and dorm-sized fridge; large bathroom with stone-tiled indoor shower. Large closet includes a safe and cooler, which is good to have because the 'fridge is so small. There is an outdoor gas grill available for your use. The owners' residence is on the other side of the pool but we rarely saw them.

We loved the Klein Bay area so much we are returning -- we will be staying at Oleander Villa, the sister house to Orchid Villa. Although we enjoyed CBH very much, we wanted a full-sized kitchen and more living space on this trip.

thanks for that review, we have looked at it but were put off by the owners on property and nearby...we are looking for privacy first, would you recommend?

I have known the owners since 2002 and watched them build from the beginning. They are a very nice couple in their early 60's who will work very hard to give you your privacy.

While we were there I saw the owner once, walking her dog. That was it. Not sure what level of privacy you need; I would not consider it a clothing-optional location (including the pool), but I felt very comfortable there.

We just returned from our second trip to STJ and rented Oleander Villa, also through Caribbean Villas. There are villas on each side but the bushes and trees block the view, it is very private. However, it is much larger than CBH, with three bedrooms.

I appreciate your comments. Unfortunately, it isn't available when we plan to travel. It looks and sounds like a very nice villa, tough. I have it bookmarked in case plans change.

pj-We stayed in 11/06 and the view and privacy of the property as a whole was wonderful. The main house is adjacent to the studios-very close.
