We will be staying at Sago Palms for the second
time in June. It is my favorite place. Not the newest
villa, but still very nice. The view is
the best. You get to watch all the boats going by
from the decks or the pool.I will be glad to answer
any questions.

Agree with Wanda... The view from Sago Palms is gorgeous, looking out over Jumbie, Johnson's Reef, and Jost in the distance... Nice place...

How's the pool? Does it get ample sunshine to keep it warm?
The only thing that I really didn't like about Seabiscuit villa was that the bbq grill was on the ground level, next to the parking spot, and at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the villa.
It got pretty hairy after a few drinks.
I'm stuck on the feel of "Island Time" over Coral Bays' location. Nice and quiet...

We just stayed there in November and will return there at the end of June. I posted a review on the villa reviews section about a week ago. Great villa and a wonderful managment company. The only downside is that the pool does not get enough sun so it is chilly. The grill is right outside the main pod next to the hot tub.

How are the sunsets?

Pink Horses is very nice! The kitchen is awsome and there is an outdoor kitchen that overlooks Coral Bay. The pool gets ample sun thorughout the day and the sunrises are amazing. We are staying there in May but my parents are friends with the owners so we have been in a few times.

I don't recall any sunsets, but the view during the day is great and it is very quiet. We loved the villa, but the pool was too cold to use at the end of November.

Hi MJ,

We've stayed at Pink Horses. Overall, we had an OK stay, felt the villa was nicely equipped and fairly advertised.

We stayed in June, and the wind was unbelievable. Our first stay on the Coral Bay side, so I don't know what is normal, based on conversations with people the week we stayed had unusual wind for that time of year. But... FYI... if that wind is up, it's a big negative. The pool loses sun mid-late afternoon, and the wind is enough that it's too cold. Yes, I said it was uncomfortable for us in the pool in June. And we always get A/C in the bedrooms. The outdoor cooking area is great and one of the reasons we booked it, but it was like being in a wind tunnel, the grill had to stay on high or risk getting blown out, it was difficult to use. Furniture was moved along the deck and blown over daily.

The layout of the house is such that the pool and grill are situated to get the view, which means sticking out from the ridge, which is exposed. If you go to the other side of the house by the driveway, which has a nice sitting area just 20-30 feet away, albeit no view, there's no problem. The difference in wind on the sides is significant. I think that our experience was a combination of the weather that week and the layout of the villa.

I've been hesitant to write a review thinking perhaps we just had bad luck on the week we were there, but I would not stay there again due to that one issue, and wish someone had given me the heads up. The guest book had several comments from winter months regarding the wind.

I feel bad making these comments, because other than that one issue, it's a nice place and was good for the two of us. If you have more than two, be aware that the second bedroom is smaller with a separate downstairs entrance, and the downstairs bathroom requires going outside. Not a big deal for some, but if you have kids it should be a consideration.
