I have been ther many times - beautiful villa with fabulous views :)

The road is not steep just very gutted in places so you just go slow and all is fine :)

Oh, I forgot (seem to be doing that alot lately :) - were you the poster that was asking about it earlier - if so I seem to recall you thinking all bedrooms have interior access - they don't - the master is upstairs and the other two are downstairs via an outside staircase.

Thanks for the reply

Would it be suitable with children(8,11). We probably would take the two lower bedrooms.
Also, any construction nearby?
Also, where do you turnoff the main road?
Thanks

Pia, Donk is my husband---thank you for your reply it is really helpful to know about those bedrooms.

I told Donk (Ned) to get his own name because he posts like a guy and I don't want him using my name and tainting it. (ha ha)

We have both been lurkers forever.

We've stayed above and below Ventosa on the Calabash road. The road is not great, but not really scary. Road is kinda steep, but paved, at the entrance adjoining the Calabash housing development under construction. I wouldn't let that construction deter you from staying up the hill. Can you hear it during the day? certainly Are you likely to be sitting around during the day fixated on the construction noise? Not likely. You'll be a few to several hundred feet above the construction so it's not like it is in your back yard or anything.

We are view-fixated when it comes to housing selection and have found that the vista from houses along Calabash Road is our favorite (even compared to Bordeaux or Ajax....don't have north shore view $$ so I guess can't speak to that comparision)

Not sure about the $$ difference during high season, but Palladio's View (next door neighbor to Ventosa) has internal entrances to bedrooms and is a great place! We were there this past Summer.

Hi Susan :)

OK, the villa is a great villa - beautifully done - and it think it would be OK for you all :)

The two bedrooms downstairs share a bathroom (Jack and Jill type) and if I remember correctly, you can just keep them unlocked therefore the kids could come and go into your room without having to go outside. Having said that the master upstairs is much larger (and nicer imo)

Another villa you might consider is this one........

I have not seen it but have driven past and it is only a short distance further up the hill - as you are only planning on using 2 bedrooms this might be more cost friendly (I didn't check the costs of both) but do ask about interior access to bedrooms should you consider it - also do note the caretaker lives below.

Hope this helps

Thanks Pia and Billy D-

This is so helpful-

Billy- Do you remember, are the construction workers working all day or do they cut out early? Quiet late afternoons - 4 or later-nice.

Pia- I LOVE the looks of Moonswept, but it is over our price range. We were just in SJ over Thanksgiving and went over budget at Ristaba (which was lovely). We went with newbies and wanted to make sure they wanted to come back! But for us, well, we cant justify that right now.

We are having so much more trouble making up our mind.
We have been in Maria Bluff, Chocolate Hole areas for last 3 years (were free w/ Starwoods points at the Westin for lots of years before that). So we are so stuck on that side and we really want to move over to Coral Bay side

I bet we have looked at every villa 5 times (we need a better system obviously.) Pretty soon our decision will be made for us if we dont just do it.

That said, there are just different things to consider and we dont even know what those things are. Like dumpsters, construction, etc... It doesn't help that I am not nuts about heights, especially when parking. Even at the smoothie stand I am holding my breath every time as we pull over, thinking we are going to drive off the edge....Call me "Toonces" (remember that from Sat night live?) Maybe that should be my new forum name.

If I knew how to post a pic I would make that mine.
