Well, all-
He has passed on...

Ricardo Montalban was awesome.
And on his behalf, with some St.John "Love City" prayers;
Smiles, everyone, -Smiles!

I actually thought about you when I read that yesterday morning.

I watched Fantasy Island religiously when I was young. Loved that show!

That was a Saturday night tradition - Love Boat and then Fantasy Island with my Grandma. It was actually a pretty good show!

....and if they bring back the Chrysler Cordoba, who will sell us on the "fine Corinthian leather"?

I had the pleasure of meeting Ricardo Montalban at a Star Trek convention. This was a number of years ago and he was in a wheelchair even then. He was a sincerely wonderful man with a warm smile and sparkling eyes. I will miss him.

To quote Capt. James T. Kirk: "KHAAAAAAAAANNNNNNN!!!"

Why is it that every other TV show from the 70's is aired and NOT fantasy island??

It's one of those shows I LOVED as a kid but I have never once seen it since I have been "grown up"-- wondering what my impressions would be of it now.

Always sad to hear of these passings. We've lost a lot of great actors and actresses in recent months.

I also would like to see some of those old shows in re-reruns. The problem is, some of the shows are better left as nostalgic memories. I remember a few years ago getting really excited to watch Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley. I was saddened to see how stupid those shows were...The Fonz? Please.....how uncool! And to think we scheduled our whole lives so we could catch Happy Days...Maybe I'd have better luck with The Love Boat or Fantasy Island....but I doubt it.

California Girl: Star Trek Convention?

(Glad I'm not the only one)

I used to actually write stories for the ST Fanzines of the 70's.

Geekdom. It's a lifestyle choice.

Yes, I am a trekkie! (I class myself as one of the originals, hence not a "trekker"). I posted some pix on Facebook, I wonder if you can access them? http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id= ... 1063643621

Awww, it's a shame we will not be on STJ at the same time, CG. We could dress up.

In an effort to clean out some of my vast collection of um...collections, I finally let go of my ST memorabilia a couple of years ago. So I'll have to borrow a spare IDIC if you have one
