I didn't even mention my affinity for TVs and anything Apple related.

I collect pre-1950 John Tenniel illustrated copies of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, as well as Tenniel-illustrated Alice items, again pre-1950, preferably small things. I have about 100 different editions of the books, including some quite rare editions, and lord knows how much of the other stuff. It is kind of an odd thing to collect I suppose.

I also have a gargantuan cookbook collection--over 500 cookbooks. That's probably not so surprising.

I love shoes. I am really good about holding myself back though. It's just that it's so hard to go into a good department store and not at least "swing through" the shoe department! Usually I don't get anything but I know what I want!!!

How many guitars do you have, Pete?

My grandson (13 yrs old) has 5 already. Is this a hoarding illness that can be cured? :P

Football is the essence of life. It's not a "hobby," it is essential to our existence. I would put it in the category of eating and breathing...without it, we surely would die.

I have 4 guitars, a bass, a keyboard and several computers (most built or rebuilt). At the height of my 80's big hair band days I had like 12 or 13 guitars and basses...I must have wanted to be the guy from Spinal Tap! It gets to a point of how many do you really play(besides collectible vintage guitars). A few for various purposes is usually sufficient....lol!

Pete- Thanks for confirming what I always knew to be true, but no one else in my life will believe. Though for me, its college football, so the season is already over. Sadly. The NFL Playoffs are a consolation though!

I've often wondered how people get to collecting such specific items. Some people have an anecdotal story of how they began and some have no rational explanation whatsoever. Many people I've asked have said they just "knew it" when they first saw it and have collected that item ever since.

I checked out some of the artwork done by Tenniel and found it very interesting. Thanks for showing me something I hadn't seen before!
