San Francisco - late Feb

We've just decided to go to San Francisco at the end of Feb for a few days (Wed-Mon). Not the ideal time of year to visit, but what can you do.
I've read some of the other threads about San Francisco and have started getting some good ideas of what to do. We hope to take a bus tour to Napa (as we won't be renting a car), spend some time in Sausalito, do the tour of Alcatraz, enjoy some great coffee, search out good local music and of course some great food!
Any pearls of wisdom you'd like to share with me? Things we shouldn't waste our time on? Thanks!

Where are you staying?
We stayed at the Westin St. Francis on Union Square. We really enjoyed being able to get everywhere by cable car. If you plan on using the cable cars or other public transportation, definitely buy the 3 day unlimited passport. It costs $18 for unlimited use. Consider, for example, that the cable car costs $5 each way. So, you can see that the unlimited passport is a great deal.
If you're heading to China Town, consider eating at the House of Nan King. That was one of our best meals.
We also went to Sausalito...departed from the Ferry Building...which, in itself, is a cool place to poke around. We had a nice lunch at Spinnaker's in Sausalito. You can't miss it...it literally is on the water, to your right, as you come into the ferry dock.
Hope you have a fun trip.

Not sure where we're staying yet, still researching that one. Probably somewhere near Union Square but that's all I know right now.
House of Nanking is on my list - I saw the glowing reviews on the other threads!

The big advantage of the Union Square area is that the Powell Street cable car line runs right by there. It sure makes getting around easy.

We're looking at Parc 55, know anything about that one?

Not familiar with Parc55, but it does look quite elegant. If you're up for something more arty for that SF kind of feel you could consider the Triton:

I stayed there, after living in the city, and loved it!
Sounds like you are doing a fair bit outside of SF proper, so you might have to limit your choices down a bit...I've posted suggestions in previous threads, so I'll hold off since you may well have already read these. Enjoy!

IMO: Skip SFO for a night or two and stay at our favorite romantic place: In Above the Tides in Salsilito. Incredible views from your glass lined balcony of SFO.

What a great suggestion. When we spent a day in Sausalito, we wished that we had booked a night at this place. It really is a pretty setting.

Inn Above Tide is one of our favourite places to stay - it will always be very special to hubby and I as it was probably one of the first palces we spent a beautiful weekend in the early days of our romance - do try to stay there

I was just checking out the Orchard online yesterday. Looks like a nice spot, it's on the list!
