I was wondering if anyone had ever seen Sea Horses when snorkeling at any of the St. John Beaches.
When we were there in November, I could swear I saw a pair in the water near the rocky outcropping to the right at Little Lameshur. My daughter-in-law searched valiantly to find some, to no avail. Did I hallucinate them?

They are very rare, but people do get lucky. The young --9-year-old or so--son of the Tradewinds publishers saw one in the Cruz Bay Creek right off the NPS dock last year, so it got very well documented. I have only ever seen one, many years ago at Maho.

Call us lucky then. We saw sea horses at Caneel, JAn '08. Can't recall which beach tho. Very cool...would have been easy to miss.

The best spot to see them is off the pier in Frederiksted, STX.

Yo...I was going to do this in my report butttt. In our Dec trip we hit Vie's a couple of times and each time we saw one just off shore in about 6 feet of water. This is the first time I have ever seen one. I have pic's and a short video of him. God bless..Bill

The two I saw were about an inch to and inch and a half long. I still wonder... did I really see them. I had a lot of Bushwackers the night before.
