Thanks so much, Becky, for posting that. I roasted some chestnuts yesterday, thinking they would go well with whatever I made, so I have all the ingredients and will make today.
And thanks MrsB for posting that crust recipe. I'm going to try that one at Christmas !

For those of you that have read
The Embarrassment of Mangoes, I made the Bahamian Mac&Cheese this weekend. It's tasty and very easy.
I served it as a side with pork chops, green beans and applesauce.
Washed down with some cold Apple Cider
(served in my new St. John Spice glasses)

I love this thread and all previous food porn...it's what inspired me to learn how to cook (that and the smell of St. John Spice)!

Ahhhh... a year's worth of food porn. Yummy!
I don't post here either (Steamfresh corn and grilled chix not so photogenic) but I do LOVE those who do.
I was a year without an oven and now that it's back, I just may have to try some of these wonderful recipes.
Thank you food porn providers!

I took pictures Thursday, but they aren't great. Partly because I didn't remember until after I'd started to carve the turkey.
However, I made Thanksgiving with all the trimmings, and it was lovely. Everyone raved over all the food. Everything was from scratch except I used some frozen pie crusts because after I rolled out dozens of homemade egg noodles, I could not hold that rolling pin anymore.
I even made my gravy from scratch, which is something that always intimidates me. Betty Crocker's web site has a recipe for "fool proof gravy," and it really is! And it was delicious. I bought a good-sized bird for the group, and there weren't enough leftovers for turkey salad sandwiches or pot pie!

I think this discussion is even older than a year--we had another version of it before Anthony split the board into "on" and "off" topic forums.
Here is my dinner last night. Frisee aux lardons.
