Don't know if anyone has tried Medifast, but it works. Read about it. Buy the products and follow the diet. It's not cheap. Mrs Random and I both lost 20 lbs and have kept the weight off. It's all about eating small meals evey few hours, eating healthy food, and smaller portions. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner do not help balance glycemic levels. My other recommendation is to grocery shop around the outside isles - that's were all the fresh non-prepared food is.

Island girl-
have a friend that just dropped a bunch and it was thyroid.
you may also want to ask your doctor about celiac disease. are you familiar with it? my mom has it. if you google it, just be aware that everyone doesn't have all the symptoms....

Thank you so very much for your reply. this is a very serious problem and if something is not done soon i am in big trouble. Yes i do know about Celiac disease. trying to work on that too. i get real sick if i eat wheat, rye etc. I talked with Theresa Rae here on the forums and she is trying to advise me. in fact i need to get back with her..just been so stressed out about this. No appetite and when i do pig out i gain nothing. Any other info you can give me would be so appreciated. thank you again.

Also, remember when you Google medical symptoms, you can find all sorts of stuff that may scare the heck out of you and it has nothing to do with your problem. I'd think thyriod or hormones is most likely. Do you have any other symptoms out of the ordinary? Have you had any blood work done? That's where I'd start.
But you have to understand why us fatties aren't feelin' too sorry for you.

Size 6 in Hollywood is obese.

HI,
I'd love to join, but I really don't want to do Facebook.
Any chance the healthy Friday recipes can be posted on the forum?

Just a word to the wise about South Beach. I did it in August to lose 10 lbs. After 3 weeks had yearly routine blood work done. My cholesterol went up 50 points!! Doctor assured me SB was the cause. 4 months later & off the south beach from the day I got that news my count went down 55 points. Just be careful!!

Stay off that internet Dr. stuff. I've had cancer at least 20 times in my life.

Maybe I should Google "hypochondria".
I would not wait a month to get a CBC. Get your GP to do the blood work and if anything is out of order, he'll refer you to whatever specialist you may need. They always have a specialist for everything. I don't think GP's do anything much more than referrals anymore. Besides, if your bloodwork shows nothing serious, (like thyroid), you don't have to sit and worry for another month.
I'm not saying GP's don't do a great job of treating flu and bladder infections, so please, if your a GP, don't send me one of these....

I love you guys..........

Dont know if the GP can find out about the thyroid from bloodtests right away or not or if the endocrinologist has to do it. IT is just so maddening....want answers now. grrrrrr .and i want stj now too but i quess i cannot have both. might have to delay vaca but my health is much more important. you guys are all angels for your support. Thanks

Islandgirl - Yes, your GP can detect any thyroid problems with a simple blood test. I go to the doctor about every 4 months to have bloodwork done to check my thyroid, cholesterol & triglycerides, and because of the cholesterol meds, they also keep track of my liver functions. It's amazing to me how much a doctor can tell about you with just a blood test.

Was watching that this past weekend. It does not make me want to buy a Slap chop from him!
Billy Mays is awesome though. Look what he did for oxyclean. That guy can sell anything.
This thread made me join crack book er, I mean face book. I was up very late last night adding friends

oh thanks Cal Girl
Hopefully this monday at the drs. he can put the test thru STAT. But dont they check for t3 and t4. i have read that a simple test is not enough. it is so confusing. if he can find out fast and its ok then i will go to a gastro for celiac. and also need to find out about going on some kind of estrogen or biodentical hormones. What a drag it is getting old!

thanks much, you all are a great group of ladies
