SJfromNJ, do you think it would have been even better if the CBGR was added the night before and the salad rested overnight? Or did the crunch enhance the salad? I'm thinking I might try this next time I make potato salad (soon).

I went to the farmer's market yesterday. We ate all of the peppers and about half the tomatoes for dinner last night.

those mussels look terrific!

here is Friday's market photo:

The hungarian peppers are so hot!! Way hotter than I thought they would be. I had a cut under my nose and touched it with the hand I had been holding one with as I prepped it. I thought I was going to die, it was horrible!

Here is a roasted cod dish that I made the other day. The sauce is roasted peppers and tomatoes and olives, with extra roasted sun gold cherry tomatoes on the side:

I'd like to have that cod for dinner tonight! YUM!

I made some blueberry sour cream muffins over the weekend.

And here's a special picture for PA Girl. What happens when Charlie does the grocery shopping for dinner! You know what I'm talking about PA Girl ;)

Mary Beth, OMG, that filet and shrimp practically jumped off my screen into my watering mouth. Is that Cruz Bay Grill Rub on the steak or maybe some peppercorns? And, is that butter melting on the steak? Looks so darn good!

Charlie cooked it up. I think he used sea salt and garlic pepper on the steak and a little EVOO when it went on the grill. Then when it came off it got black truffle butter and a shrimp. Not a bad meal :)
There's also a portobello underneath. Just had a salad on the side.

The last grilling of the summer

Saturday was grilled Rib Eyes with Liamsaunt Balsamic Mushrooms and some rice pilaf -

Tonight was grilled Tuna Steaks with Marianne's marinade, some coconut sticky rice and veggies:

Maybe early fall will be mild and we'll get a few more grills in.

I don't know if any of you have the British Virigin Islands Caribbean Seasoning that you can get from Ruth, but that stuff is awesome too. Sometimes I have trouble deciding whether to use that or CBGR. It is GREAT on steaks!

I have frequently opted for that over Tony's lately.

I buy the BVI seasoning every time I'm on island. We use it on a lot of fish dishes but especially like it on corn on the cob. We've even sent it to my daughter's in laws in Australia who got hooked on it while visiting.

Silverheels - thanks for the suggestions! I usually use CBGR on fish but will try the BVI Seasoning.

Will definitely try it with corn and have used it on salad too.
