This is RickG's better half, Christine. NoTanLines...well, that pretty much speaks for itself. Now you know why he's always looking for those "private pool" villas.

Mine is kinda embarrassing...I began using that nickname A LONG time ago when I first started using the internet. "Nothing to Lose" is the name of a KISS song. Yes, I used to be a huge KISS fan as a kid. When I got my first internet access the orignal members had just reunited for their reunion tour; I was back into KISS so I chose one of their songs as a onscreen name.

When I first started coming to this forum, I used it because I had always used it. I thought it appropriate because I was in a stage where I figured I was going to experience everything because I may never get the chance to do it again and had nothing to lose but not having the joys of the experience.

I wish it meant I had no weight to lose - maybe one day.

After Katrina, I wanted to get rid of it because it actually upset me some because it hit too close to home in some ways. At the time, I didn't have the energy to put enough thought into changing it.
Now, I like it cuz it can mean just about anything.

p.s. I picked the Fleur De Lis avatar more as a symbol of my hope and pride in our city as we rebuild. It happens to be Saints colors (am also a Saints fan), but it's more about the city than the team.

Great thread Sea-nile! Well, obviously, I live in California. California Girl is a derivative of my eBay name, which is kalifornia_girl. On eBay I couldn't get that name spelled like I wanted so I settled for the "k". When I first signed on to the old forum I could have any name I wanted and that one was easy and I could spell it like I wanted to, and when I registered for the new forum I made it official. Besides, I really like the Beach Boys song "California Girls". Brings back some good memories of summers at Huntington Beach and Newport Beach before it was "The O.C." Ahhh... the good ol' daze. 8)

My real name is Margo :D

Maggy - my middle name is Margareta and the nickname for that in Sweden is "Maggan". But since my last name starts with an Y, I changed it to Maggy instead.

By the way - my first name is Karin.

My husband instituted a limit of 2 regarding the cat members of our family. He said it's to avoid the whole "crazy cat lady" thing.
It's also known as the "one in, one out" policy. I currently have a couple of cats on the awaiting list but they've been on it for about 7 years with no movement.
I discovered a loophole in the plan but it would test how much I really want another cat. He said, "The number of cats in the family can not exceed the number of people in the family." I suppose if I really want one more, I have to have a baby. That'll teach him.
Either that, or have my mother move in with us.
To you other girls born in 1966, we were born in the Chinese Year of the Fire Horse. It only occurs every 60 years or so. We're "special" .
As you all know, that made '06 the Year of the "F" Word. I spent mine (July 16) you-know-where 8) with a stop in Tortola first. Got spanked by Bomba and my unmentionables were added to the collection nailed up in the bar. Mine are above the door :)
The pain of turning 40 paled in comparison to the pain of the hangover. It was then that I started to question the name Painkiller. I concluded that they must have left a comma out of the middle.

2catlimit - I love your nickname.

It could have been my nickname as well, as the same rules about cats goes for our household too. In our case I guess that means that the 2 cats we have, will not get any more fur company. By wait a minute - my husband didn't say anything about a dog limit

Maggy,

I have several plans to get around the rule.

The first is to get one of those cats that hides under the bed all the time. He'd never know it's there.
The second is get another cat and dress it up as a small dog.

The third is to just get another cat that looks just like one of the other cats and question his sanity when he tells me there's two of them. :P

Hey Maggy,

I notice you're in Sweden. Are you familiar with the band The Bo Kaspers Orkester?
They're a favorite of mine. Funny thing is, I don't understand Swedish so I have no idea what they're saying. I just love the way they sound.

Maggy,

My niece's first name is Maggan. She was suppose to be Amber Lynn and when she popped out she did't look like an Amber Lynn, so she is Maggan Lynn. She likes to write it Maygan, so people know how to pronoumce it. I always blamed my brother for not knowing how to spell. She'll be so excited to know it's really a name. She was born in Ft Polk,Louisana and everything just think it's a Cajun name.

Wow!
Andrea who call hers Maggie

2catlimit - thanks for the tip about getting another cat. It has to be done after our STJ vacation, because I'm sure my mom, who will take care of the cats during our vacation, will notice if there are 3 cats in the box/cage when we arrive at her place.

And of course I have heard about Bo Kaspers Orkester. My husband thinks they are really good, so he plays their cd:s sometimes. They are also played rather frequent on the radio. They are pretty cool. And it's pretty cool they have fans in the US. How did you hear about them?

Anjebear - that's cute. Actually Maggan is a very common nickname for Margareta (except for my coworker Margareta who we calles Myggan which means moskito - she is rather small...)

I LOVE this thread too! Well the reason for my name is very EXCITING! The "S" is for my first name (Susan) and "Sypniewski" is my last name. I bet no one could figure that one out.
