It is hard to know what to say. Everybody has been so wonderful. More and more I can appreciate the funds that we have raised because I am dealing with other problems and people too. In January my baby brother lost his wife, heart attack in her sleep. I am down in Birmingham right now picking up the pieces that still remain. Not to sound pitiful but I had to check my brother in to a hospital yesterday. On Monday when I pick him up we shall start again. I wish that he had the support group that Amy has. He sure could use it. So don't stop writing to us, and writing to Amy! I am just glad she has that blessing. And for right now, my brother has me. Let's try for $5000 for our ACC, and remember my brother, Thomas, in your prayers.

Barbara - You have done good here and it is appreciated. I will certainly keep you and your brother Thomas in my prayers. I love how you said that on Monday you would start again. I think that says it all. Thinking of you, Thomas, and of course, Amy.

I'm sure that I am not the only person whose thoughts turned to MrB and MrsB today. It was a sad day.
In spite of the heartbreak of this loss, I think we gained something here, as a group. It is easy to make light of “internet relationships”, yet for many of us these relationships enrich and expand our lives in ways we never could have imagined.
This world that we live in offers us the opportunity to share the experiences of people we may never have met in person. We have the opportunity to share our hopes, joys, triumphs and sorrows in an instant.
I am extremely proud of what VIOL has accomplished in John Baranzano’s memory and it is a great honor for me to be associated with this group of caring people.
The St. John Animal Care Center is our cause now.
Peace, friends.

Ruth, thank you for your kinds words.
You were not alone in your thoughts today. I know many of us had Mr. and Mrs. B. on our minds today as well as our forum friends who took the trip to PA to comfort Mrs. B.

Great comments everyone.
What I find refreshing is the people actually acted and did what they said they would do (in Mr. B's honor.)
Living in a Southern city where "lets do lunch" means "see you later"...and "bless your heart" means "oh whatever, I really don't want to hear what you are saying right now"...I am used to the major brushoff and lack of action.
It is really amazing to me that in a relatively "anonymous" forum here, that people actually took action and made a donation.
It really does say a lot about the quality of person here because it would have been very easy for all of us to say that we were going to do it, and then not do anything. No one would ever know if we were the ones who didn't do anything.
It also says a lot about Mr. B, who touched us all in some way, large or small.

Thanks to those who set this up with the STJ ACC! What a great memorial to a fellow forum member who loved the islands and the animals. Making this donation is the best thing I've done today!
