In times of joy and sorrow we rely on music to inspire, console, and reassure. Perhaps it is the empathy we get from knowing that others have faced our situation. Perhaps it triggers that memory that gets us over the barrier we are facing. Sometimes it is a way to deliver a message in a way we can easily understand.
This song is specifically for Amy, but we all need to hear this from time to time.

All you got to do is call and we will all be there.

Whatever is decided, we should coordinate it so that the charity(s) knows the donations are coming and they can save a tally to let Mrs. B know. They could also share the names with her but not the individual amounts contributed. Most charities have that sort of system in place to track that.
It would be a nice thing for her to know (as I am sure she does already) that so many people care, even those of us who never met him.

Amy, I am so sorry for your loss. Like many other forum folks, I never met John but always valued his wit and insights. My thoughts are with you both.

Hi All. Jorge here. I'm not allowed on the forum but under these circumstances I thought it would be ok to post under Barbara's membership. I miss you all and think of you often. John & Amy shared the island and villa with Barbara and I. John was the most true person that I have ever met. I wish that I was half the man that John was. And no, I am not Mutumbo. That was all John. He had a humor that was hard to match. My heart is heavy with pain, but John I know we will meet again. I love you buddy. Take care of one another. Later, HorHey

It is so amazing that Johns name is still in the sand under the web cam. He has been there all day. I think he has found his final resting place. ST JOHN...
See you on Island John. We Love You
