My 2 cents from our first trip---

All the homework we did paid off, we chose a villa we loved with an awesome view...the view alone was entertainment, seriously.

We brought some frozen meat, that worked well for us, we brought about $150 worth of frozen steaks, bacon, burgers, then when we got there we bought about $200 worth of groceries (our villa-mates stopped in STT, actually).

I had looked at the Trail bandit maps alot before we went so that provided some helpul background knowlege for quick decisions when we all decided to go for a hike.
Knowing where the on-island groceries were helped too.

Another thing that I have read before that can help is knowing where your cistern pump controls are in case the electic goes out and you have to prime the pump and all that fun stuff...ask the villa folks when they show you around the villa.

I, personally, would skip the trip to Jumbie next time, I think there are much bvetyter beaches on island.

I used google earth maps extensively to understand the lay of the land before I got there...
Cheers-
