I just read your post and I am so sorry. I will keep you, Sandie, and your family are in my prayers.

My heart goes out to you both, prayer, faith and the love you have for each other will get you through this! Waterguy/Tom's prescription of St John between treatments sounds like the best medicine! Again our prayers are with you both!

Bill we are so sorry that you're having to go through this now. When life throws you lemons you just have to make lemonade. We're sorry that you've had to change plans. We'll keep you in our thoughts. If positive vibes are a cure, you've got enough here to work with. Like DC Photo said, if you need anything just let us know-- we're not that far away! Hang in there!

Just a thought. Four treatments three weeks apart and will that regimen take you beyond December which is why you have to cancel your visit?

There is a new cancer treatment center at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital on STT. Although I used to work with cancer patients years ago I'm talking off the top of my head but wondering whether, if the regimen is not too debilitating, it could be transferred to the STT facility and they could maybe administer the remainder of the treatment right here with of course complete cooperation between your physicians there and those here?

Obviously your visit here is very important for many reasons so wanted to share my thoughts with you.

Dear Family...words can not thank you all for the warm caring words and prayers. 5 Dr appts this week for our girl. She is doing great and wants to hit it as hard as we can. Having the chest tube put in on the 13th and then letting it heal, then the chemo starts. We talked about going but it would be too close and she would not be able to be in the sun at all. Possible infections due do zip immunity were also stressed. Again with tears in my eyes I can't thank you enough for caring to write and support us..I will keep you all posted. We know there are so many who have walked down our path and are doing fine....God bless....Bill

From someone who walked down that path 14 years ago-there is hope. Prayers and good thoughts go out to you. A positive attitude is so important.

May you both receive the comfort and strength that only God can provide during this time. I would like to add your wife to our prayer list, what is your last name? I will keep you both in my prayers. Of all the things we try to do for each other, prayer is the only one that can truly make a difference. Faith is really shown in the valleys, anyone can have it when they are on the mountain top. Tracie & I are with you & Sandie all the way on this one. We haven't stopped praying for you guys since the beginning of this tradgic ordeal. As always, our love & thoughts are with you both.

So sorry to hear you guys can't make the trip this year. But I am counting on you being there with us for 08!!

I too have a child being affected by cancer. My daughter Jenna was diagnosed at 9 yrs. old with Acute Myleogenious Leukemia in December of 2004, causing us also to cancel our trip to St. John the following January. Jenna was able to make the trip once again in January of 2006, only to have to cancel the following year's trip due to relapse, causing her to need a cord blood transplant. We are now planning a trip for this upcoming January and it cannot come soon enough, as St John is her favorite place in the world.

I am sorry that this terrible monster has once again entered your lives. If I may make a suggestion that helped Jenna get through spending a majority of the last 2 1/2 years in the hospital, instead of looking at how long she HAD BEEN THERE, we did a count down to when she got out, and how many days till St John. It's not as an intimidating number going down, as it is watching it go up. We have been on a "count down" for over 20 months now.

I will add your wife to my daily prayers, and hope that all goes well with her treatment.

Also the best wishes from Denmark to you and your wife. Hope she will get well soon. So sorry to hear about your son, my eyes filled with tears reading it. I can understand how you must feel. We have only one child - our son, and I have had breast cancer myself. The positive for you are that they did not find anything in the lymph node! So I’m sure that you soon will be able to visit STJ again.

Bill, what a tough hand of cards life has dealt you both. Please convey to Sandie that we are all thinking of her and hoping for the very best of outcomes.

As an afterthought, ladies...please make sure you get your yearly mamos. Just had one this week. Waiting for the results.
