ERL - It's a sort of "double honeymoon" if you will. My daughter is getting married in Aug this year and she and her husband have never been down there. Of course they always hear me talk about it and they couldn't think of a better way to be introduced to St. John than to have "MOM" along to show them the ropes. This means, that my husband and I get to go along (we were married in 2011 in Glacer National Park with just the kids along)... we technically, we have never taken a honeymoon either.
We're thinking "off season" since I'm usually down there in January with my girlfriends. We're thinking either April -June sometime. I'd love to see the flora/fauna at a different time of year... not to mention the extra couple degrees in water temp might be fun!
Our criteria:
-- 2 or 3 bedroom (don't even mind a pod layout).
-- We'd like a pool.
-- It really needs to be under $2500 as the airfare will kill us in off season and we're paying for a wedding in Wisconsin.
-- Awesome views are important - last year we were at Villa Jumbie and I'd like to be slightly higher than that but I don't want the "off roading" to get to the location. We visited friends last year that we had to leave before dark because the road was ugly. I don't mind the switchbacks.... but switchbacks and unpaved ruts make it ugly after dark.
-- Airconditioning in the bedrooms is crucial --- and potentially in the main area (if we end up taking my son along for the family trip)
Have you had experience in April - May or June and if so, any preference?
Thanks!
