Likes (OK these really fall into the 'loves' category):
- Laughing until my stomach hurts and my eyes water
- Bleacher seats at Wrigley on a sunny day
- Sitting by a campfire
- Songs and movies that make me cry
- Holding a baby
- Kayaking or sailing on Lake Michigan

Unlike many people I really enjoy public speaking. But I truly hate public restrooms. (I have nightmares about dirty bathrooms. Weird, I know.)

Other Dislikes:
- When sad things happen to good people
- When people are rude
- Thousand-leggers (with the long legs... seriously, my blood pressure goes through the roof if I see one)
- Being late
- Gaining weight

It began long ago, when someone stuck some olives in my beer bottle as a joke! Turns out..not only did I like the taste, but it is fun to watch! They float up...then sink back down...then float up....then sink back down...

I love all these lists, but now I want to slave in the kitchen all night to make my grandma's famous pierogi.

Which leads me to another like: Polish vodka

I liked my grandma too, but the older I get (she died when I was seven) the more I am starting to forget about her.

i'm with you lulu. i saw peirogis on someone's list and thought- i too love those darned polish dumpling/raviloi/thingies.

my gram & ciocie are the only ones who make them now and not very often cuz they are old, old ladies. i can't make dough for shit & my mum doesn't have the patience so the family recipes (cabbage) perogis will die out with the ladies.

dang it.

Too funny, because I also like the smell of wet neoprene and of course it means that either you are going to dive or just have been. But the smell itself triggers a sense of "feeling good".

Lysa, I never used to make them because I don't do well with dough at all. However, on New Year's Day I made dozens of pierogi (along with cabbage rolls and kielbasa) and fed my friends a Polish feast just like we would have at home.

Surprisingly, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I did worse keeping the cabbage rolls together (only cheaters use toothpicks) and I have made them a million times.

Another like: All the awesome Polish restaurants in Hamtramck (part of Detroit)

Dislikes: Living so far from Detroit (but it's warm here), and my brother who one-upped the rest of us for Father's Day by having Polish food from Chicago Fed Exed to my dad.
