I guess I'll be sticking to virgin painkillers for this trip. Hubs and I found out that we are expecting.

I'll be 8 weeks preggo on island.
This should be interesting.

Hubby and I are starting to give each other the "island look", that dreamy, faraway, 'you know what I mean' look. We try not to talk too much about the trip around the 'kids' that are not going this year as they give us a ration every time but it seems that it's ALL we talk about nowadays. I have been searching, gathering , shopping (that's been the funnest part) for weeks now since ya can't totally ignore the everyday responsibilies while getting ready for STJ. I will definitely be ready by the 20th. If everyone will be able to stand me and hubby by then, remains to be seen. We're like little kids.
MBW-not sure what the problem with the knee is but have you tried Glucosomine? Folks that I know have found much relief with it, especially with aching knees. Oh , hubby would like a real name (rather than khud's husband), so he's jhud. See ya'll there.

Thanks guys. This is our first. And it's very early, but we are so excited.
Am I a horrible person for being anxious about not drinking on island? I shouldn't complain, but good lawd. By 10am every morning I'm going to be hitting the seltzer water HARD.

Congrats Sasky ... don't worry about being alcohol free on STJ. I'm long sober (with good reason) and have never felt out of place there. People having fun are people having fun (though some seem to have more and more fun as the day goes on
Will you be at the Beach Bar on May 24th?

Tried the backpack carrier again today, and now I'm thinking I won't bring it. It was much harder. Isabel absolutely loves it, but I think I'll be a wreck with it.
The days count down ... I've got so much work that I could never finish it all next week, so my expectations have dropped precipitously.
Talked with my friends on island last week, and asked Bill what he does for fun after 17 years on the island. He says he frequently goes to Trunk at about 5pm to walk up and down the beach. The tourists are gone and he usually has it mostly to himself. Will try that ourselves!
