I just wanted to say that I went through all of these songs on itunes the other night and bought a bunch of new songs, so thanks! Especially to whoever recommended the Decemberists. I'd never heard them before, and I love them!

I like having the link to itunes up at the top too. I can never find the amazon.com forum link. I know it's on here somewhere, but I can never find it (well, now I can go through the mp3 store link).

Oh! Another group that Sydney (ScubaGirl) and her hubby introduced me to was Great Big Sea-- they called it Canadian Maritime music (at least I think that's what she called it).

It's sort of a mix of Irish/folk/I don't know how else to describe it but it's generally happy fun stuff.

I included The Decemberists. I love "Sons & Daughters" in particular. They're quite wonderful to see live. They'll be at the Newport Folk Festival this summer.

Since you enjoyed them, you might give these a listen:

Fake Empire---The National
I Can Hear Your Voice---The Accidental
Cage the Songbird--The Low Anthem

Oohh ohhh oooh!! I was watching True Romance last night and I LOVE the song from the end of that movie.... GREAT instrumental with a tropical vibe... when you hear it you'll recognize it:

"You're So Cool" by Hans Zimmer

But the best version is the one by Dan Head on the Essential Hans Zimmer Soundtrack. It's also the more popular one on iTunes.

Carry on....

I had quite a collection ready for our trip in February and as we took off and flew over the airport parking lot, I realized that all my music that I had spent hours upon hours downloading and arranging was sitting in the floor of the car.

But here's one for your collection.....

No Hay Problemo - Pink Martini

So....planning another trip so I can go back and listen to my music!
