SJfromNJ, very nice.

BTW, last night's dinner was sirloin steak grilled on skewers with the CBGR marinate recipe - went great with palak paneer. The kids have a new favorite meal. It's looking like we'll have to mail order more to keep them fed.

made this tilapia tonight. the sauce called for dried parsley which I didn't have so I used Island Herb blend that I got at SJ Spice. No idea what is in it but it was delish!

One of these days I am going to have to try tilapia...you make it look so nice. I don't know why I don't buy it.

Nice food photos, and you can't beat the setting, SJinNJ!!

When we were last on SJ we had brunch at Sun Dog, twice. Both days they had a "puff pastry of the day" specical. Once it was an edd dish, the other day it was a chicken dish. Both excellent. Have been thinking since then about how they might make these.

I'm having a Mother's Day brunch - anyone have a recipe for some sort of egg and puff pastry dish?

You could make puff pastry nests and serve poached egss in them--maybe with some creamed spinach under the egg?

Rick, when I do the CBGR marinade steak on a skewer thing, I also add fresh mushrooms, pineapple, green & yellow peppers, cherry tomatoes & purple onion. YUMMMMMM! I only marinate the steak and then I dip the mushrooms in the marinade just before I skewer them. :D

Mmmm, I need to decide what to cook for dinner. We've been working down the freezer to get ready for summer. We are down to fish-tofu and pierogies. Yum!

Keeping with the CBGR theme, we had it (neat, no marinade) on a couple of Sirloins - grilled! First outside grill of the season - Woo Hoo!

Forgot to take pics :(

Now that it's grilling season, the kitchen is closed as Don takes over.

That coq au vin looks so good. I made that once but the red wine in the recipe I used made the chicken turn purple!! I've been meaning to try it again with white wine.

I have too many pictures from this weekend to post them here. My brother in law came home the other day unexpectedly for a 2 week leave and so I had a party here for him last night with loads of food. Since it was last minute I just went to my standby party menu, which is Italian stuff--lots of roasted veggies and salads, and a big thing of meat and some pasta, etc.
Lots of wine, of course! :D

And, I lied about my fryer because today I made Jasper White's fried chicken and cole slaw recipes.

Can you tell I am not running the marathon tomorrow? :P

We used red wine and it was a little purple on the outside, mainly the skin.

It was very good and we have leftovers for lunch and enough sauce for another creation later this week.

MB - Is this your hummus recipe from the dip and appetizer thread? I've been looking for one to use for my daughter's lunches that isn't too dry and is easy to spread.

She decided last year that she was a peskatarian...sigh! No meat, only fish and seafood. It's hard to find things she'll eat that will give her enough protein.

Looks yummy!
