Just about to start reading "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. Co-worker said it was really good, hard to put down and an easy read.

Sedaris sounds like exactly what I like on vacation. I've never read anything of his. What would be the favorites?

Has anyone else read the Outlander series (by Diana Gabaldon)? A friend recommended the books to me, insisting that I would love them. Well, it took me a long time to get into the first one...by halfway through I still wasn't convinced... I'm not really a historical romance/time travel fan, so it wasn't my cup of tea. But because I new my friend was dying to hear if I liked it or not, I stuck it out. And let me tell you, without even realizing it, I got sucked in and LOVED it! I finished the first book and promptly downloaded the second to my Kindle. So good!

99- When I lived on Cape Ann, I loved to go to Stage Fort Park or to "The Backshore" and gawk at the ocean and enjoy her wild disposition(especially in stormy/bad weather)...sometimes I miss that place...no Ocean hereAgent99 wrote:Thanks Lysa! There is a seal pup on the stone pier on the Lanesville Web Cam that's been there about 24 hours. There have been reports of other strandings in the area. The marine folks are aware and keeping an eye out for him. The thought is that the water is too cold and they are trying to get south but the pups are to little and getting worn out. That is rather hard to watch, but I am glad that you linked it. During the long stretch of freezes in Florida many chilled green sea turtles had to be rescued; about forty were brought to UF for care.
The elements are not always friendly.

I heard about the turtles in Florida Iprof, and also heard that the manatees were hard hit.
I do know that the marine life experts are watching this little guy but it seems like an awfully long time for him to be without food and exposed.

Just got back from Barnes and Noble with copies of Dress Your Family in C & D and When You Are Engulfed in Flames. Thanks for the recommendations.
#2 son is reading Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan and loves it so we picked up the rest of the series also. I've been enjoying it, too. If you've got a youngster looking for a good read they might enjoy it.

Love Sedaris and my son loved the Riordan series. Right now I'm reading Wally Lamb's "The Hour I First Believed". So far, so good, but I don't like the main character all that much.
I recently read two by Carlos Ruiz Zafon , "The Shadow of the Wind" and "The Angel's Game" , along with Diane Setterfield's "The Thirteenth Tale". I loved all three of them.

Flip-flop, I started this last night. Great so far, can't wait to finish cooking dinner and get back to it. They are both very good reads, Ruth. Her third is coming in JULY and I can't wait. I needed to read more slowly!
