And no, Pete, I will not take Butkus. Unless you change his name to something more Packer friendly......
You don't need my wise-ass comments today. But, when you're ready, I did think of a bunch of Packer appropriate names for the pooch. (Most of them are not terribly flattering.)
Take care. Again, sorry.

Tracy,
I too am sorry to hear about your loss. I agree with the others that he had a nice, long, loved life. It still doesn't make it any easier.
My mother-in-law had to put our 18 year old cat down while we were on STJ in May. She said, "you just know when you look at them that it is time". That is why the second poem about letting them go when you have to and not letting them suffer hit home. I hope that time will heal your loss.
Verjoy, My thoughts are with you during your difficult time with you father-in-law.

Karla Bonoff wrote, and sang, an amazing song for her cat. It's here:

Just be prepared to be pretty moved if you've never heard it.
Like others, I'm real sorry for the loss in your life.

Tracy, I'm so sorry for your loss. My cocker spaniel,MacGregor, passed away at 17 years of age and could have been George's twin. Just know that all these beloved pets are running through those fields together, young and happy.

Tracy, I'm so sorry for your loss. Just reading the subject line brought tears to my eyes. They are pretty special members of the family. George is now playing with my Marlowe, who I lost almost 12 years ago. You never forget them. Gus and I will say a prayer.

Tracy...please accept my condolences on your loss.
We had the pleasure of living with a female twin of George for 14 years, and she was a true joy. She had her problems including blindness for her last several years but that didn't deter her from still bringing incredible joy to our lives. Cockers can have a great spirit as many other breeds as well. George looks like a wise soul.
It takes time to heal the wound of a loss like this but you will always have that memory of what a special guy George was. It sounds like he has many playmates at the Rainbow Bridge, and I hope our Daisy has introduced herself!
