My mom thinks it's weird to have friend from the Internet, so since I'm from Ohio, I always call Deb and Jay "Deb and Jay, you know, my friends from WV who moved to St. Thomas?" That seems acceptable to her that I would meet them for a drink while I'm down there.

my husband just laughs at me and shakes his head. He finds it funny, because usually I'm very shy around people I don't know, except when it comes to vacation! You think it's the rum punches??

I like my ticker too, except soooo much work to be done before I can leave!

Luckily the group I'm going with is mostly Internet type folks, so they get it when I say "We have to meet strangers from my travel forum at the Beach Bar Sunday night." Two of the girls I have met in person, but the other two are just online friends. However, we all get along, and I think it's going to be a good trip. Last year, people that I had spent a lot of time with and were good friends ended up acting horribly on the trip, so I think it's just a shot in the dark, you know?

KathyMN and my group of 5 will be there on Dec 28. We've been to the BB plenty of times, but never to a Forum gathering before. Looking forward to it! Hope there's some others there too. How about you Loria?

p.s. we had our first hard frost here in MN yesterday, and they're saying possible snow showers on Sunday. It's time to start packing! Only 58 days left!

KathyMN, we arrive 12/19 and don't leave until 1/3-so count us in!!!--We'll be over in Coral Bay , and i tend to get stuck over there--so this will force us to get over to the big city!

My family was the same way at first. They couldn't understand how we were meeting so many people before we actually moved down. It truley made the move easier knowing that we already "knew" so many people that made as feel at home.

My ex-wife thinks its weird that my kids know who all these forum folks are. The St. Patrick's Day photos with JC pretty much shut her up, "they seem very nice."

Okay.....I see "my" date on there for May! whooh hooh! Looking forward to seeing all those "Haven't I...Forum" t-shirts. Much more fun to put faces to names....generally it makes the stories even more relevant. In case your looking for me that day….I’ll be the old, fat, balding guy laughing and drinking sitting next to a woman that looks like she would like people not to associate her with me....(or at least one of them).

Now you just need a ticker so you see the days getting closer and closer!!

I don't have a current picture of us, but I'll post this one taken last year. My hair is shorter now and I've let all my gray grow out. I look similar to Rogue in X-Men now - or would that be Lily from the Munsters??
