Vicki...the photos are really spectacular! I'm so partial to my Canon SD850is...for convenience sake. But your photos have me...once again...considering crossing over to the dark side...

Super work! Great report...as well!

I see Jesus every day. I'm a lucky girl.
Not Patrina, though. That's La Luna you were seeing, Patrina has been thankfully absent for quite some time. (Note, Luna has recently taken to hollering "MY NAME IS KATE!!!!" to people who greet her, but don't be fooled.)
Glad you had a good trip and thanks for the trip report.

I just told my husband I have to go back to St. John and soon to meet Jesus. The strange thing is he didn't even look at me like I was crazy. I assume it is because he knows I am by now.

I loved your report, and your pictures were great, as always! I think that it said you've been there 9 times. I think I'm a bit jealous.

Vicki,

Fantastic trip report. I was laughing out loud, smiling with pleasure, and sighing 'cause I want to be THERE NOW! the whole time I was reading it.

Amazing that it was that crowded the 1st week of January--usually that's the little lull between the Christmas crowds leaving and the 'heat-up' of on-season. We've only been able to get there once or twice that early--it's a real push when you have tons of family stuff & it's all at your house, though I'm not complaining, I LOVE it--one year I didn't put my Christmas stuff away until we got back--that was pretty bad. But anyway, it was a nice quiet time until mid-January but I guess no longer, huh?

Thank you again so much for your report--MUCH appreciated and a welcome antidote to the cold, snow, & dreariness up here.

Awesome report as always. I happen to love beach chickens. We had a cock fight right in front of us at Maho. I thought it was pretty cool wife was not so impressed. I remember that day well everyone was catching a buzz the Roosters were cocka doodle doing and so were we and a few others that had a few to many that day.
Pics were a little better than those crap Ipod shots :) :) :) Loved the hummingbird shots. Worked on getting some last trip for a couple hours and everyone was making fun of me. None turned out very good still in the learning process. Girl ya really do have a gift for taking awesome pics.

Great report and pics...(has that been said yet?) I have the same camera and lenses as you except for the wide angle. May have to invest in one before my trip. Had to get a new camcorder as the last one died...planning on getting an underwater camera...I'm going to look like a crazy mobile camera store walking around St. John. I love taking pictures! You have set the bar for Trip Reports pretty high. Great read! Thanks!

It's a yummy dish at the beach bar--raw tuna wrapped in nori then dipped in tempura batter and lightly fried, then sliced and served with soy and wasabi sauce.

Vicki, yesterday I only looked at the "best of" photos, but last night John and I looked at the whole slide show. So many amazing photos! You seem to especially have a gift for animal photos. It was nice to see all the photos of Sunnyledge too, since there aren't many on Terry's website. Thanks so much for sharing.
