Alcohol and responsibility do not mix! Some pineapple juice and coconut works much better with the alcohol.

I would have done something like that. My husband is always on the lookout for that type of behaviour from me! He's getting quite good at it actually. He knows the signs!

Yes I know. We had been on charter for nine days and I had been running the boat and diving everyday so I hadn't been real bad up until that day. Captain Gary had the boat and dinghy that day and rum drinks seemed like a good idea at 10:00 am. Just one of those days. Idid manage to get everyones cameras wallets etc back in the bag prior to departure, I just forgot about the phone.

captainjay wrote:We are actually staying in St Thomas this trip. We rented a condo from some friends at Saphire Village. We are going to try to make it over to St John on Sunday for the beach bar garthering. We will also likely stay over Saturday evening for a while when we get back from Jost and get something to eat in Cruz Bay. My wife has a second interview for a Job while we are there and we want to look at some real estate while we are down so St Thomas was more convient for us.

Jay,

Her interview is on St Thomas. It actually the second face to face for this, she has also had a couple of short phone ones and a bunch of email back and forth. This process has been going on since Feb. Everything is on island time.

My guess would be, based on previous experience dinner on saturday will be a few more drinks and a snack somewhere as after a day on the boat I doubt we be in any shape to go any place fancy. I am sure we can come up with something in Cruz Bay. Moregan Mango is always fun or we may just go to the Beach Bar and get a sandwich. You all are more than welcome to come along.
Jay

ps I am home today doing quarterly taxes. As you can tell I am having a hard time focusing on them. A got a nice reminder email from my accountant about penalties and the like.
Whew! Glad I'm not the only one not up to anything fancy after Jost  . There is nothing like a painkiller for breakfast on Jost. I rationalize that it least it contains juice. The Sandcastle folks are having their morning coffee and we are ordering painkillers  . Hope to run into you guys that day. Any idea what time you might end up there? We will have to head for the ferry about 2:40pm. Yes, I'm being exact. I love every minute there. And yep, we are on the Charlotte flight.

Flip Flop, if you read this, what time does your flight leave? We can look for your sad face through the glass  .

Brenda,
I am sure we will see you at the Soggy Dollar. We will have to figure out which other stops we are making. It will depend on what Nature Girl and her husband want to see and/or snorkle so we will let you know. But I am sure a good bit of time will be spent at White's Bay.
Jay

Did you see these pictures of the new bar at Soggy Dollar. They were posted on Travel Talk on Line

Forgot to mention, new Soggy Dollar Bar design is very cool 8) . Tish and Gerry, the "new" owners seem to be doing a lot to make the place better. We met them last year. They were very nice!

It's our second trip. We were last on St. Thomas and St. John about 4 years ago. It was easily the best vacation we ever had, so we've been really looking forward to going back. It's also our first long vacation without the kids since my son was born 3 years ago.

We're flying in to STT on the 23rd on American. We spend the first night on St. Thomas at the Ritz and then we go to St. John the next day. We're staying at One Particular Harbor. Hopefully the problems that were mentioned in the January review have been fixed by now. I wish we had known about this forum when we started researching. We're on St. John for 5 nights and then back to St. Thomas for another 4 at the Marriott Morningstar.

I've been lurking here for a week or two, but when I saw all the people from the forum leaving the same day, I figured I'd register and join in the excitement.
