I'd stick to rum and long back rubs for the pain.

I don't care how comfy or good for you they are, they're just too ugly to wear. PERIOD!

I had some Crocs. They are comfortable. But if you are looking for arch support, I don't think it would last long. AND if you are prone to stinky feet...I had the stinkiest feet ever! I have some for our daughter (18 months). They look so cute on her---she gets a new pair every so often because she's growing---haven't noticed her feet stinking---lucky thing!
I have some Chaco's that I absolutely love and they are approved by some medical outfit (club/group/council of orthotic/podiatry or something specialists).

LMAO Kellyanna - I was wearing my Crocs today and I was thinking how BAD they stink! I actually left them outside tonight and had to wash my feet off!!!
Glad I'm not the only one!

Dare I interject here and say Birkenstoks!
They are the best if you have back problems. Yeah, there are some that are really ugly, but a lot of their sandles are cool and they are so comfortable.
O.K. any birki wearers out there willing to admit to wearing them? I think their sandles are certainly better looking than crocks.

ME
Have no problem admitting that! I even have a floral pair that I changed in to on my wedding day!

I have short, wide feet and my staple shoes are:
Chaco's
Keens
Birkenstock
It drives my fancy shoe friend crazy, but if my feet hurt, I'm not as fun!

I found crocks not to be good for boating. They are too squishy and turn over. The best I've found are Teva Elixer flip flops good support. I've ahd many, many pairs of flip flops and these are the best.

I don't like the way crocs look. They are too bulky.
My go-to shoe is a pair of hiking sandals by merrill. They are kind of ugly I guess, but they are really comfortable and they have arch support.

This past trip I wore the Keens on the plane and around our day in Puerto Rico, the flip flops around the villa and if we weren't doing alot of stuff and the Birkenstocks out at night or if we were gonna be walking around. Only wore my Tevas the day we went to Waterlemon. Left the crocs at home and didn't miss them.

p.s. I was so glad to have my Birks this trip - left them last time and wished I had them the whole time - as for fashion...my sisters want to send me to "What Not to Wear" so obviously I am not about fashion. I wear what feels comfortable.

I'm a big fan of Reef flip-flops...but, and this is a big but (one "T" not two)...they have to be with the black soles. Over time they mold to your foot. They are to flip-flops as a Wilson A2000 is to baseball gloves.

Not that I don't value all of your opinions, I DO! I am just desperate and have heard that the real deal crocs (not the knockoffs) are super comfy. To me that would be the only thing that would explain why so many people wear them cause I find them kind of homely. Almost so ugly that they are cute. But then I remember the "jellies" phase of the early 80's!:)
Flipflop,
They really are not supportive for someone with low back or herniated disks. Either are flip flops. Tevas have alot of support I have found, and anything in the Merill family. Now nurses will say they have support but they wear them with socks as in a hospital they have to. Alot of surgeons wear them to
I say this as I teach movement education and my client base is made up of
1. joint replacement
2. spinal issues as in fused disks and herniated disks
3. pain managment and cancer survivors.
Saying that since I have taught pilates for 4 years and my cousin has herniated disks and loves.......loves crocs.
I think they are (as someone says you can wipe out on them easily) not the most 'supported' shoe.
I love mine that I wear around the house since they are tyedyed for Key West.........I would rather wear flip flops with just more support.
PM me if you need

Flip-Flop - my back actually bothered me more when I first got my Crocs. Seems it does with all shoes though.
The people that sold me my Birkenstocks had told me a few years ago to not wear them for long periods of time initially to let my back get used to them so I did that with my Crocs.
Don't feel they are any more supportive though...just convenient for going in the yard when the grass is wet (O:
