We just got back from 8 wonderful days on STJ. I really can't say we had a bad meal anywhere! In fact, hubby comment that this was the best food we have had on the island. We ate at the following places:
Aqua Bistro...prices are high but was good stuff
Skinny's.....they put out a good burger you have to give them that! I miss having a side option though
Miss Lucy's Sunday brunch....what can I say...wonderful!!!
Tourist Trap.....tried the Lobster Roll....GREAT but shocked at the price!
Concordia....hit music night so all was good!
Indigo...their food was good but we had a hard time finding them open!
Shipwrecks.....prices have gone up, I felt not as good as usual and higher than usual
Joe's Rum Hut.....great food, reasonable prices, awesome view...what more could you ask for
Miss Vies....fun!

I totally agree re: Etta's at the MarketPlace. Generous portions, great West Indian food, and you can't find anyplace that cooks and serves it with more love than Etta!

If you want a bit fancier experience (sit-down meal at tables inside) and during evening and weekend hours, try Da Coal Pot. New restaurant that opened less than 2 months ago; located to the right of Lime Inn if looking into Lime Inn.

It's West Indian food. Great dishes: our group tried the Curried Goat Stew (all 4 of us agreed that it was the Best!), Oxtail Stew, chicken and shrimp dishes. I had the Curried Goat Stew and never finish a meal (always take home leftovers--I love leftovers rather than stuffing myself at dinner) but there was no leftovers this time!) It was $19; you get 2 or 3 generous side dishes included with that. My plantains were great as were my mixed vegetables--all fresh and cooked perfectly.

Absolutely stop at Scoops (far left--if facing the shopping center--at Mongoose Junction) on your way home from the beach or after dinner. It's $5 for 2 scoops and very unique, all-natural (no artifical colors or flavors) flavors to choose from. So far my favorites are their spiced chai, passion fruit, cowboy coffee, and slated caramel. Ok, just writing this makes me realize that I need to go back to taste more flavors...

Morgans Mango- lovely setting and we always have great food and service there. This time, our group had pork tenderloin, coconut shrimp, and voodoo snapper. All good. And always have a key lime pie martini.
La Tapa- went there on jazz night (Tues). The music is lovely and the food is great, but we could see the expression on our server's face change when he discovered we would not be ordering drinks. After that, the service went downhill. And it took a long time for him to bring the check. Even though our meals were delicious, we will not go back to La Tapa. The duck breast was awesome as well as the mahi with black orzo.
Lime Inn- for all you can eat spicy peel and eat shrimp. Waitress Lou took good care of us.
Rhumblines- creative menu. Food was good. Lobster bisque was excellent. It was a little too loud to converse.
Skinny Legs- blue cheese cheeseburger and veggie Reuben were good.
Scoops- ice cream place in Mongoose Junction - awesome favors. Rum raisin, peach sorbet, chai, salted caramel were all good. Next time will try their cowboy coffee ice cream.
More to try before heading home on Wednesday...
