We love Gibney early in the morning because we are all fair skinned and like to get used to the sun gradually. Gibney doesn't get the full sun until a little later- early afternoon- at least the time of year we usually go, which is April. There is sun but it is filtered through the palms and grape trees which suits us perfectly. Step out into the water or put your chair at the water's edge and you'll get full sun. If you walk all the way to the left down the beach it widens out and there is more sun. It is so serene in the morning. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
