I very much agree with Pia. I cannot recommend Reef Madness enough... we have stayed there 4 times. And Randy is one of the VERY best owners I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

As for CSA, I don't find them to be unfair in this case, either so I won't be dismissing them. Unfortunately, any kind of insurance is NEVER simple as we all know.

GeckoBoy, hope all will be resolved quickly at home... and everyone will be able to rest easier and go on with their lives.

where is my "like" button for this? :)

I don't know Randy, nor have I stayed in Reef Maddness, but I had no doubt, based on how Randy is on this forum, that everything would work out favorably for all parties involved. The whole story just needed to come out.

Just recieved an e-mail from Randy, owner of Reef Madness. He offered us another stay at Reef Madness after our problems have been resolved!!!!! I wrote him back and thanked him and accepted his offer. Most understanding gentleman!!!

There's not too much else that we can say. Proves what most of us knew about Randy.
Good luck to you Bob and hope that all is resolved soon on the home front and that a trip to STJ will help you put all this behind you.

Phew, this whole thing went from one extreme to the other! So glad it all seems to be working out.

We've had the opportunity to meet Randy (in DC) but have never seen Reef Madness or had the opportunity to meet his wife, Marcia (nice name, BTW). He's good people. Not surprised that he worked with you and got this resolved.

As for insurance, I sound like a broken record but, I highly recommend Travel Guard. You can get any level of insurance you want, to fit your particular needs (cancel for any reason, etc...). We took out a policy on our summer trip last year to Topsail Beach in North Carolina and it was a seamless process filing the claim and getting reimbursed for a trip that was interrupted due to hurricane Irene. They were fantastic to work with and will always use them in the future.

Marcia-Thanks for recommending Travel Guard and that you had good results with them, it is hard to choose a company without knowing anyone that has actually used them, I think I'm going to try them for my trip and hopefully not have to use them! Cheers!

I love Randy- I did before I actually met him in person!! He is one of the kindest , gentlest people I have ever had the luxury of meeting and feel honored to know him and cannot wait until this fall when I get to meet his lovely counterpart!! I am among the privileged to say Reef Madness is part of my island "home" and always will be!! I have a small painting of it that sits on my dresser so I see it every morning!! It's almost as good as the real thing, but I miss the bananaquits!!!
I knew the minute Randy read this post, there would be more to the story and I felt there would be some type of resolution!! Yeah!!
