We can only imagine what you two have been through. Glad you met some nice people on your journey home. We wish her a speedy recovery and fast rehab so she can get in the water soon.

One more update for you.
Diana saw the MD today and he plans to send her home tomorrow. She was able to get up and take a shower this morning. A more normal life is returning.
She is making plans to work with her friend who is a physical therapist ASAP. Although she cannot work with her right lower leg there are things she can to to prepare for the cast to come off on April 29. Yes, it is probably no surprise to some of you. We have a schedule. By doing upper body and core activities now she will be better prepared to get the leg back to work later. She will be working with a dietitician also to build up enough protein etc. to optimize healing.
If Low Key can take the wounded wariors out to dive with all their issues, this should be no big deal come June. We leave in 97 days. As the Duke said, "We're burnin' daylight!" We'll get on "Island Time" in 98 or 99 days.

I can completely sympathize... My hubby fell Jan. 26 and broke his ankle and leg bone 2 weeks before we were scheduled to leave for St John. Two plates and 6 screws later, we had to postpone our trip till June. He's been off his leg for 6 weeks and still has 2 more. He starts 8 weeks of rehab soon. We are going come hell or high water, crutches or not. We were planning to renew our vows on Trunk Bay over Valentine's Day...now we'll have to plan another trip in 2012. Our 13th trip to SJ.

The MD came in this morning and said they were keeping her for one more day. She is still not managing the pain yet. He thinks that she will do much better tomorrow. He doesn't want to send her home where she will have a problem.

I hope her docs get her pain under control soon, so she can come home. But IM/IV pain meds can't usually be had (under these circumstances) at home, so as long as she needs them, she's better off with good pain control there.

Thanks for keeping us updated Jim. She will heal. You are right about Low Key, they do take the wounded veterans out, everything will be good.

Oh no! How unfortunate! Sounds as though incentive will have a positive impact for a speedy recovery this case. I'm sure she'll be ready to go well in time for your next trip!

Free at last! The "prisoner" was released this morning. No one is happier to hear that than Diana.
Now is when the hard work starts.
