Congrats to you both. Getting published is fantastic!

Ladera's a beautiful spot for a vacation, we were checking it out in February, you should be able to take many great photos there-maybe another winner will be in the bunch

Nice job, girls. I have seen this magazine referenced many times on the forum. My son's school is selling magazines as a fund raiser, I will be sure to get myself a subscription. :D

Congratulations ladies. Well deserved recognition.

Wow, we have so much great photographic talent on this forum. 3 winners in 2 years. Excellent showing.

Kristen, I don't know how you took that photo of that thing swimming towards you. I would've freaked out, flailed around, swallowed way too much salt water and drown myself.

I will add my admiration and congrats to the winners.

BubblyB - your comment made me burst out laughing because I would have been screaming like a little kid, running (or swimming?) away myself, while my photographer hubby would be taking lots of shots of it.

Congratulations to both of you. Good job!

I love both pictures. The iguana is really cool and I would LOVE to have been there with it.

And good eye there MB - very nice!

Wow, looks like the forum is taking over the magazine!

Both pics are fabulous. That iguana picture-what a great juxtaposition of people and nature. Love it.

(oooooh...I used a big word!)

Congrats ladies!

(I see the men haven't won any contests....hmmmmm)

Yes, I won first prize in nature last year. I chose not to use my prize---it was two round trip tickets on Air Jamaica, but Air Jamaica doesn't fly out of Boston so I would have had to get to NYC to use the tickets, plus pay the taxes on whatever they valued them at. Too much hassle for me!

Congrats to both of you! Love your photos! I don't agree with the grand prize winner, though. Doesn't even look "Caribbean" to me - no turquoise!!!! :(

I was not happy with the colors in the pic since I wasn't able to use my good camera to get the shot. It was dull and drab and then I had a friend photoshop it a little which washed it out.

I went into water chasing the little little guy so I could take his pic. He just posed for me! here is the shot again smaller since the first i uploaded was too big and here is one with my daughter next to him when he ws closer to shore (this shot is not photoshopped but the colors weren't as bad since I was facing the other direction)

Liamsaunt..would you mind posting your winning pic? The place I won the stay at looks amazing and condsiering the rooms go for $650 plus per night I definitely want to take advantage but then you have to pay taxes and buy airfare so it adds up!

It doesn't seem right to me that a professional photograper won the grand prize. Just seems unfair to compare amatuer work to that of a pro. But that's just me 8)
