Thanks for sharing Vicki! Report and photos are fantastic. I was thinking of going to Anguilla but ending up going to Turks and Caicos instead. Not sure if that was a mistake or not. But if you are very much into snorkeling and diving, Anguilla might not be for you. But hard to beat those beaches.
Thanks again for taking us along.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a wonderful trip. I also love to hear about the local and it's always nice to hear that travellers and locals alike respect each other.
If you don't mind a couple questions:
You said that resorts outnumbered villas. Did you go to any of them or get a feel for what they were like? I love a villa but I've also stayed in some smaller resorts that I liked very much. I was wondering if you thought they were a good option.
Restaurants: We enjoy a couple nice full dinner evenings out on vacation but sometimes we look for an equally nice spot where we can do apps and drinks and enjoy a view- without it being an issue. That is often limited at vacation destinations.

Vicki - How did you get a good deal on your villa? Was the company offering a deal or did you ask about one? Also, where did you get started on your research? Thanks.
JDW: While the villa is also listed with a management company, I found it on VRBO.com and contacted the owner directly. He gave me a better rate and included the rental car. I found these two websites to be great places to find information when I got started:

http://www.anguillaguide.com/
You'll pretty much find every single villa for rent on Anguilla on that second site.

Greenskeeper: We saw a lot of the resorts, since most of them are on the beaches we visited. They are all very appealing. Smallish, low rise, and very attractive with great beach front bars and restaurants. They appeared to be a very desirable option.

This place was LOADED with dining choices. Not only would apps and drinks be acceptable nearly anywhere, there were actually quite a few places that specialize in just that. Like this place:

I guess during peak season, when places are crowded, a full service restaurant might frown on just apps and drinks, but when we were there, we were usually the only ones in the restaurant. I don't think they would have cared WHAT we ordered as long as we ordered something.

Hi Vicki, Thanks so much for the information. I may want to pick your brain further if a trip to Anguilla becomes a reality.

Well Vicki, you may have started something. Last night we had dinner with our travelling friends and we might look at Anguilla.

Vicki- Thanks for writing your blog, trip report and sharing a link to your photos. You reports/perspective are always enjoyable reading for me ...I appreciate you taking the time to share it with all of us.
It would be super-extra-awesome if you could make your photos freely downloadable on flickr...but understand if you don't want to give them away freely...
Thanks and Cheers to you and ur hubby!
