Congratulations to everyone!! Prayers for their safe return home. I'm adopted & from my perspective have such admiration & gratefulness to God & to my Mom & Dad for all they have ever done for me. Lyra is one very blessed little girl....as are her parents/grandparents! Cherish this special time!

Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers.I am technically inept so maybe hubby can post some pictures when he comes home. I know they have posted a few to their blog site. Computers there, even ones they call high speed, are slower than dial up, also very intermittant. They are all well now, and able to sight see alittle. Went to the national museum today to see"Lucy". Been to several marketplaces, and tomorrow they're going to go to the top of entoto mountain. Also, best news, they have passed their US Embassy appt and have birth certificate, ethiopian passport, and us visa for Lyra.
Wouldcome home early, but no flight home til Sun

Oh, what a sweet little girl she is! I'm glad to hear everyone is feeling better and they are able to see some of the country. How awesome to see "Lucy" in-person!
It sounds like everything is moving in a positive direction now that the Embassy has given them all their travel documents! I need to go check the blog and see more pictures of this little cutie! This is so exciting!

thank you mbw, for posting the picture. Isn't she a doll. They are leaving tomorrow and home Monday evening. I can't wait to see her in person. Maybe if I'm lucky there will be snow here Mon night and they'll have to spend the night here instead of driving straight home from the airport. (just kidding)

I'm an greatly touch by everyone's interest. It shows how many good people are out there, when people I don't even know show such interest. When they get back I will have hubby put some more pictures up, and some pictures of Ethiopia. Not a vacation spot. The poverty and living conditions are unbelievable. The people have all been very kind. They love their children and everyone has taken great interest in Lyra and is so happy she is going to America. But they want her to remember she is Ethiopian.

What an incredible journey. Your family is so blessed.

They got home last night.Hubby and I both cried when we saw each other. A little sappy, but hey, we hadn't seen each other since thanksgiving morning. Lyra is beautiful. She was on Ethiopia time, so she was sleeping. Even with much rousting, we could only get her to wake up for a few bleary eyed moments. She actually looked much more rested than the parents and grampa who had all been up 36 hour without sleep. I have been summoned today by new mom to please come help. Jet lag, lack of sleep, and new baby is a little overwhelming. I'll try to update with more pictures in a few days, when I return.
