Right there with ya sailorgirl! And FlipFlop thank-you for your post - the last myth explains it all
Oh, and DaveS...now you know what it was like for SOME of us for the past 8 years!!!
Let's agree to disagree.

Hey Pete and Marcia,
Reporting back as called. Yes, I'm as sober this morning as I was last night, while waiting up for my daughter to get home.
I would not change a word of what I said and actually could write much more, but what's the point. If you don't get it by now you never will. It's like trying to convince an athiest there really is a God.
You have a great day!

You and I will never will agree. I'm fine with that...actually makes me happy.
And, no, the comment last night was not my best shot. It was an observation. When you make such cogent points as our President shouldn't even "wipe his ass" with Ronald Reagan's toilet paper...when you use multiple exclamation points...and when you say that we are headed for "diseaster" (which up here is a holiday in April)...you distract from whatever the heck it was you were trying to say.
You have a wonderful day, too.

Couple differences though my friend; unemployment was around the 5% mark, today it's around and going up 10%, double, I would like to say again Double. We lost more soldiers this past month in Afghanistan than any other month under Bush. Just two of many plausible observations. It only keeps getting worse, and worse, and ......but eh, race relations are better, er uh, nope not that either. . . . .

I gotta tell you. I'm not a Democrat. I'm not a Republican.I'm not a conservative. I'm not a liberal. Ask my friends. Ask my wife. Ask me. I am an American.I am an American patriot.I follow no doctrine. No one side has a lock on patriotism, religion,or morality. I posted a week ago about how important this board is to me and how the ugliness has worn me down.I posted this thread, even knowing it would start a train wreck, because I understood what the Nobel Peace prize was about, and because I was proud that Barrack Obama, our elected president, was the recipient of it. Has he yet done anything as our president to deserve it? Probably not, except to offer to try to make the world a better place.[ Did Henry Kissinger and Le Doc deserve it after nine months of bickering over what shape the freakin' peace table was going to be for the peace talks in 1973? Probably not, but they were trying].
Anyway, if I have ever been personally insulting, mean, or otherwise disrespectful to any individual on this board, I offer my sincere apologies. I'm taking a break for a while. You all behave yourselves. I've got pumpkins that need to be shot. Later, JT
BTW, many have quoted somebody else in trying to articulate what they were trying to say. Let me do the same one time.

I'm right there with ya JT on Party affiliation. But I really do believe Obama has his heart in the right place. Not sure what he will get done in the system but lets hope he can do some good for the world. I really believe we are at a crossroads for our counrty.
One simple phrase comes to mind, united we stand divided we fall. We damn well better get united if it gets as bad as I fear may happen in the next ten years and I'm generally an optimist.
Anyhoots the vid puts it in perspective. Thanks and CONGRATS PRESIDENT OBAMA.
Happy Chunkin and don't stay gone to long

From Wikipedia:
Civic virtues are personal habits and attitudes that are conducive to social harmony and group well-being.
Generally, civility is a social virtue that involves self-control or moderation and contrasts with pride, insolence, and arrogance.
Lately, the press has reported a lack of civility in our society. I am seeing expressions of such many places around me. I have yet to see a positive result from such behavior....
JT, I will miss you too... and I am sorry.
There are times when I would really like to throw a pumpkin!
