I too don't think I could stand a whole 90 minutes of Carrie Underwood...that goes for Celine or Whitney too. Great artists, but for a live show, I'll take Van Halen or Rush any day.
I bet I could do 90 minutes of Sugarland too....

Hey Cid, I assume you're not referring to Rush Limbaugh.
I love Sugarland and have seen them in concert. Jennifer is awesome.
Becky, you nailed it....Scott Hamilton is exactly who I was trying to come up with, I just couldn't put a name to the head.

As far as Entertainer of the year goes, I've always hated this category. What exactly is the definition? Is it record sales? Concert ticket sales? It sounds like a big popularity contest...those things always have such good results. That's why I was happy to see the Idol judges get a veto this year. Sometimes America boots the wrong talented person over the better looking, less talented person. Just like real life....Hehehheeeeee!
ACM voting criteria revised 12/21/2008.
ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR
This award is presented to the individual, duo or group who showed the most overall success in the country music industry during the preceding calendar year. The factors to be considered in arriving at this award include, but are not limited to, success at radio, sales of prerecorded music, success of music videos, live concert ticket sales, artistic merit, appearances on television, appearances in films, songwriting, writing and contributions to the country music industry. The nominees shall be determined by a nomination ballot(s) and are subject to the approval of the board. The winner shall be determined by a combination of votes from the membership of the ACM and viewer voting.

"Artistic merit" and "contributions to country music" are both great BS terms to say that ACM voters can vote for whomever they like....and the general public. We all know the voters don't have a clue. I watch Idol ...lol.
Like I said...one big popularity contest.

I have to agree with you capt. Kenny isn’t the most talented one out there but man can he sell a show. We are going to see him at Mohegan Sun on 04/17 and then again for the big bash at Gillette Stadium in August. One thing I would pay anything to see is for him to just sit down in a small crowd with just his acoustic guitar with no amps and just belt out some of his stuff. I love acoustic music, and that would be one show I would really love. Yes, his music just grabs you.
AC/DC was my 1st concert back in the 80’s at the old Boston Garden. Man I swear my ears are still ringing from that one.

my friend is going to both those same shows Mike.....
she wants me to come to gillette.
kenny has done acoustics sets on island and over on jost as well.
he would do really well if he did something like springsteen did with the 'devils and dust' and it was just him and the music not the E Street band.do love bruce with the E Street but was really cool to see things stripped down.
think one day kenny will do something like that

Remember when so many of us loved the Eagles? They were Country and we didn't even know it and still after all these years, they sell out stadiums.
If anybody wants to see a great concert, go see Sugarland. They are unbelievable.
I also saw LeAnne Rhines, who I didn't think would be that great, but she was.
Keith Urban is also amazing. Such a showman on the stage. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get tickets to a local place in Philly that is a very small venue.
Toby Keith, saw him in Hershey in the pouring rain and stayed the whole time. I wouldn't miss him.
Kenny? Great concert. Outside partying in the lot with great people. Going again to Philly in June and I know it will be a great time.
Carry Underwood? I don't know if i would pay to see her, but she has a great voice and I think she's going to stick around for awhile.
I didn't grow up Country. I grew up with the Who, The Eagles, Led Zepplin, Jethro Tull, ELO, etc.
Tastes change, but if I'm going for a a 2 hour ride, I'll put on Aqualung and it takes me all the way down the shore.
