Kinda thought your amazing snorkel was going to be about dolphins. That is just too cool

Definetly a memory and story to tell for the rest of your life. I'm afraid I would have said somthing to the guy grabbing the fin Idiot

Great job

WOW! What a great photo opportunity with the dolphins! We have also seen them from the beach at Maho and were quite surprised they were so close to the beach, but it was amazing! I agree with Gromit, you could write a wonderful book, based on your trip reports. I can only imagine how much time you spend on them. But, rest assured that we thoroughly enjoy them. Thank you so much. Reading your reports makes me very excited - 5 days!!!

My goodness!! I knew there was a reason why I checked the forum before heading off to bed.
"Dolphins" at Waterlemon. Congrats!! I think that we all need to go on vacation with you guys. You always see the most amazing things. I no longer think that it is luck. I am convinced that it is YOU.
How cool was that?? And to think that you were "rewarded" with a "private show" by a very wise dolphin who knew who his true friends were.
Always love your trip reports & photos.

Dolphins!! OMG-ly COOL.
And scorpionfish! I remember parafins saw one at Maho also. I'll look for it carefully next time I'm there.
I just want to thank you for your superb (as always) TRs and restaurant reviews, liamsaunt. Hope you are going back to the island soon! Maybe this summer?
There is a possibility my husband and I might visit St. John in the next high season. We've only been there in the low-seasons, so I'm curious to hear what your take is for comparison. I, too, am spoiled with the warmer waters of the summer... and I wear a neoprene shirt even then.

What an awesome trip report. I'm usually just lurking here, but the dolphins put me over the edge. WOW..what a fantastic experience. Were you crying in your mask...I would have been. I thought it was so cool when I saw a turtle. I cannot imagine what it would be like to swim along side such a beautiful creature.
2 more days and we'll be there. I am the counting the hours point now! yipee!

I knew when you said that you had the best snorkeling experience ever while on island that it would be worth the wait to hear about. It was!

What an awesome experience. You certainly were rewarded for your patience and respect. I had an encounter with wild dolphins while in a small boat on a back bay in NJ but never while I was in the water. I honestly think they were as curious about us as we were about them. I can only dream of having a similiar experience when I go to St John in May. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
