Becky, are you planning on checking out the new place where Tage was? The name escapes me right this minute. I'd love to read your review.

Forgot to say we also went to Hinds--that's the place where the old Tage was. Oh, and Rhumblines. And Shipwreck, and Tourist Trap, and Miss Lucys... Yeah, I have not been cooking a lot this trip. Good thing I brought a cooler of food.

I'll do full reviews on all the restaurants when I am home.
Pia, I think the small plates at plancha are terrific. We tried three--the chicken and steak skewers, which sounds boring but the meat was really tender and came with an incredible spicy romesco sauce, the bruschetta--there were two kinds, one roasted tomato, one mushroom goat cheese--both awesome, and then some prawns and greens, perfectly cooked. They also brought us some house made foccacia which was very good. The main dish that we shared was less successful, but the dessert--a key lime creme brulee, was really, really good. WAY better than the disaster creme brulee we had at Hinds (more on that when I am home). We tried a couple of cocktails too--John had an el guapo, which was really light and refreshing, and I tried the hibiscus cosmopolitan, which was tasty but TOOO strong! I could only drink 1/3. John got the rest!
We tried to go to Waterlemon yesterday but the current was running, so we ended up spending the morning at Maho (where we ran into forumite darkdietandlime and her husband, who we also saw at La Tapa the previous evening!). Maho was great but it did get quite crowded so we bailed around 1:30. I am spoiled by the offseason! We went to Trunk for the sunset and some more snorkeling, then La Plancha for dinner.
We are trying for Waterlemon again today, then going to Cinnamon for the afternoon. Unless the current is up at Waterlemon again, then we are going to snorkel Kiddle Bay and probably Yawzi Point after--conditions permitting of course!
Not sure what we are doing for dinner yet. We've been almost everywhere--except Sweet Plantains of course, but John has confessed he does not want to drive back from Coral Bay in the dark.

That's OK though, we are going to stay in Coral Bay in July so I'll just have to go there then twice. Or three times!
Have a good day, everyone!

I had the
most amazing, once in a lifetime snorkeling experience this morning. You will have to wait until I get home to see the pictures and read about it.
Once John wakes up from his nap we are going to Cinnamon for the rest of the afternoon. He is trying to convince me to go to St. Thomas for dinner at Agave Terrace this evening. I am trying to convince him to go to dinner at Sweet Plantains and then go see Inner Visions at Sputniks after. I'll let you know who wins out tomorrow.
Oh, and we tried to go to Etta's West Indian for lunch today, which all the local papers say is at Pastory Gardens now, but it's still Compass Rose there. Does anyone know what the story is on that? I was looking forward to some roti.

Lovein' your reports,Becky. How were the prices at la Plancha? We'll be down on the 24th and wanted to check it out. My daughter will be with us and she loves a good roti so I'm anxious to hear what you find out about where Etta's cooking. We had heard that she was at Compass Rose.
