Jim, what great news. I am so happy that things are starting to look up for him (and you). I don't think it is as simple as the forum, I think it is YOU and the positive energy you bring everywhere you go.
It's obvious to me.

Thank you for keeping us all posted. As you can tell, so many here care about you, Paul and your whole extended family.
How wonderful that he's awake! Here's sending prayers that every day sees some improvement and progress. My thoughts are with his wife, too. May God grant her peace and strength along with your brother's healing.

Hello again, all.
Just a quick update on my brother...-
He's been transferred to the Magee Rehab in Center City,Phillie. My twin sister, mom,& I went to see him today.
Thanks to all of (y)our collective prayers, as well as his proud stubbornness, Paul is getting better.
He's finished with the surgeries on his legs, and although it'll be a lot of work, I'm looking forward to him 'coming around the bend.' It could most likely take a while.
He's still on a lot of meds, as expected, but he recognizes people immediately.
His meds tend to kick in every once in a while, and he gets a little confused and frustrated about how to handle it.
He's wide awake, and anxious to get out of his confining leg braces, and wheelchair.
I personally couldn't imagine what he's going through; it must be grueling, and as I mentioned, very frustrating.
I'm so proud of the perserverance & strength that he has,- to me it's remarkable.
He's usually surrounded by his closest friends,(John, Rocky,Michele, etc...)as well as his wife Kathy & son Paulie Jr. (my Godson).
The support is wonderful, and as old & long as this thread grows, I'll be thanking you all over & over for allowing me to vent during this challenging time.
Honestly,it was wonderful to have him recognize me, and say "Hi Jim!"
He just hopes to be "normal" again, and understandably gets angry with the situation.
Sending you all a cyber-space "Group Hug", and always-
Smiles-
Jimmy

Hey Jim,
It seems like things have turned a corner and Paul is on that very long recovery road. That is awesome news. I happy for your family that this has not ended up sadly. Now that old saying "one day at a time" certainly will apply. Just remember that on the bad days....
