sleehog = goheels
goheels and goheels with years and initials is always taken on forums. I went with the backwards thing and stuck with it over the years.
Oh, and the "heels" are the UNC tar heels!
maybe one of these days I can change it to STJHeel

What does my forum name mean?
"In computer science, lex is a program that generates lexical analyzers ("scanners" or "lexers"). Lex is commonly used with the yacc parser generator. Lex, originally written by Eric Schmidt and Mike Lesk, is the standard lexical analyzer generator on many Unix systems, and a tool exhibiting its behavior is specified as part of the POSIX standard.
Lex reads an input stream specifying the lexical analyzer and outputs source code implementing the lexer in the C programming language.
Though traditionally proprietary software, versions of Lex based on the original AT&T code are available as open source, as part of systems such as OpenSolaris and Plan 9 from Bell Labs. Another popular open source version of Lex is Flex, the "fast lexical analyzer".
That's what it means. As for why I chose it, I don't remember. Just had to come up with a name once and have continued to use it in some places. There are other forums where I use other names. i imagine that Lex is a nickname for Alex or Alexander. One marginally famous Lex would be Lex Barker who played Tarzan.

This is a fun stream to learn the story behind people's on-line names. Mine is rather simple, a research professor at the University of Florida, thus UF Prof. Hey, I had to pick something!

cypressgirl,
I'm not sure what I want to change it to yet. I will be thinking about it. I could just spell out kentucky, rather than using the abbreviation ... but I may come up with something else altogether.
californiagirl,
Thanks! I will email Anthony once I make a decision.

NYBB = New York Beach Bum
We're lucky enough to live at the beach and enjoy it everyday from April through October. Today was UNREAL - 80 degrees with bright sun, brilliant blue sky and clear water with big waves. Love love love September at the beach!

This is one of many threads that gives this forum such a great sense of community. Thank you sea-nile for starting it.
Ever since I first stepped off the old wooden dock in Cruz Bay--many, many years ago--I have unabashedly been a St. John Lover. It was such a strange feeling, to feel so utterly at home and in peace, in a place I'd never been before.

Well, since this thread has bumped back up I'll add that the obvious part of my name is the CruzBay part... easy enough to see my love of STJ in that but my last name is Buchanan making CruzBayB perfect sounding together as CruzBaby or CruzBay B, either way ya wanna interpret it! Just curious... which way did yall read it... CruzBay B or Cruz Baby???
