To eat: Sea Bass. Chilean if available. Pacific is good also. Grilled with a little garlic butter. Mmmmm

To see: Gar (sp?) fish. Saw many seahorses in FLA. One seahorse was at least 10 inches long on a snorkel trip in earlier years. (no, wasn't using any drugs!)

Not favorite fish to see....shark.

Had an incredible barricuda follow me into shore from a snorkel trip in Cozumal. He was longer than me, but seemed to be my buddy and followed me all the way in. I called him "grampa" and the locals seemed to know the fish I was referring to!

Terry - that would freak me out about the barracuda. It wouldn't scare me, but the larger barracudas have those big eyes that just seem to stare at you

Ummm...it did freak me out. But my husband is a diver and not afraid of anything. So I was trying to be brave. He wasn't with me, I was with a group of travel agents on a fam trip. They stayed on the podium a few yards from the beach and the person I was catching a taxi with was on the beach and motioning to me to come in as she was ready to leave for the hotel. After a few moments with "grampa" I saw that he was old and okay. I remembered my husband telling me that bari's were okay if there wasn't blood in the water...they just stare at you with those blank eyes.

A perfectly seared piece of ahi tuna! I like Chilean sea bass too, but once I read about their illegal collection I stopped ordering them.

For snorkeling...adult queen angel, they are such cool fish to observe.
