A little nasty, thus less rum might actually be a good thing. However, I cooked it in my crock pot, so it never really boiled and the alcohol didn't boil off. I got home from work and took the lid off the crock post and stuck my face over it and took a big whiff! OMG! Instant high! I filled my sinuses with warm rum steam! Seriously! I got dizzy!
Hoping I wouldn't get pulled over and tested for drunk driving, I ran to the grocery store and bought another pack of beef stew mix and some beef stock. I transferred the whole works to a big stock pot, added the new stuff and boiled the alcohol off. It wan't terrible, but it was just waaaay too much rum. The rum overwhelmed everything else completely. So after leftovers with ketchup added for dinner tonight, it was, "stew, meet garbage disposal!"

Rum in hot apple cider: good.
Rum in hot (but not boiling) beef stew: bad.
I think I've got it. But, I also, was hoping you were on to the next big thing.
Didn't get to watch the movie. Went to Old Navy and bought a clearance bucket hat that matches my swimsuit, had Mexican food and bought tons of crap for kitty for while I'm gone and her big trip to kitty day care today.

The only time rum and stew should be in the same sentence is below:
" I am stewed, I drank too much rum."

Personally, I am stewed right now because they won't allow me to drink at work. Some people.

I'm out of rum at the moment, but I'm not going to stew over it!

Part of the reason we keep 30 bottles.
though...we're at 28. I did some consolidation. I had 2 bottles of Mango Cruzan with 2" in them (bought on separate vacations) and the Mrs polished off a bottle of Cockspur the other night (only had 1" in it)
time to shop. There's room on our wine rack...I mean our rum rack.

I went over my friend's house the other day, and she had this wine rack that was completely empty except for some sort of artificial flowers for decoration.
If that's not a drinking problem, I don't know what is!

As I like to say:
My only drinking problem is when people try to confront me about my "drinking problem"!
