I've always gotten the feeling that you and I don't agree. However, you being an undecided is interesting.
Have you been happy with the government for the last 8 years? Have things really been going good for you and your husband in that time frame? If so, then, by all means, vote for McCain.
It's really pretty simple. You either want change or you don't.
You live in a very high rent district. Obviously you are doing well and that is good. The environment you live in has a great farmer's market, good local restaurants, many hispanics, but a lay-low community.
Let your soul be your guide.

Terry, nope! I haven't been one bit happy the last 8 years. But I don't believe that a vote for McCain is necessarily a vote for the same government that we've had under Bush. Plus, I don't particularly like the idea of an all Democratic House, Senate, etc. I think we need balance there.
At the same time, I also believe in a lot of the Democratic platforms. In fact, I'm sure I'd already have voted for the Democrat candidate, except I don't think Obama is necessarily the guy I'd like to have as President. Maybe a few years from now, but not yet.
I think whoever gets the job will bring change. Whether one person agrees with another as to whose version of "change" is better doesn't matter, change happens. People will always disagree regardless of what happens or who "wins". I pity the man who wins this election having to take over such a friggin' mess. You couldn't pay me enough to be President!
In my opinion there really isn't anyone I like running for office. But I need to vote and I want my vote to count, so I have to decide on someone eventually.
And FYI, I live in a condo across the highway from the high rent district, and am certainly not wealthy. I have to save for 2 years to go to St. John, and that's fine with me. I work hard and I earn that vacation and I soak up every dollar of it. And don't get me started on Hispanics. Love the legal ones, but...well... let's just not talk about it here. I didn't start this thread to air mine or anyone else's political views or opinions.

I agree that we are all nervous about both candidates. Your points are well taken. Good luck with your choice.
Having toured the missions and the beautiful area you live in I'm envious. I love CO, but wish we'd would have drivin' further west 30 years ago and had a house out there as it is a beautiful area. Luckily we have family in several areas near you and fly out as often as we can.

CG, I know you're not looking for another heated political thread, but I'm going to make one quick comment and then duck and cover
I heard a woman on the radio the other day who made her choice for McCain because she doesn't like the idea of the house, senate, and executive branch to be controlled by the same people, especially since there is a possibility that the Dems could wind up with a filibuster-proof majority...meaning no checks or balances...one party with a whole lot of power to make a whole lot of decisions for this country.

Teresa Rae, you nailed it. If there was nothing else to be decided, that would be my choice. It's a very powerful incentive to vote for McCain.

Seriously, the idea of a one party controlled Congress and White House troubles me, too. I'm solving that conundrum in a way similar to the woman who is voting for McCain. I'll be voting for Republican Senator Mitch McConnel.
Plus, the twisted voter in me finally believes he deserves another term in office.

Thank you for the video, CA. This Tina is really, really good. I have already seen part of the video in the Danish TV without knowing the name of the actor. So funny! I was laughing for myself seing it again. Tina was even better than Palin

. Tina didn't. I also saw when "Hillary" and "Sarah" were side by side. So funny too.

BTW I understand Teresa fully.I would perhaps feel in the same way about the democrats being too dominating. I just not like the alternative. I cannot see Palin as a vicepresident/president for the most powerful country in the world. Sorry, but I absolutely agree with Colin Powel.

You guys are all so great! Really. It's such a difficult decision for me. I completely like & respect Colin Powell and when he came out for Obama he really threw a monkey wrench into my decision-making. Arrrrggh!!

In a way, I see your point. After all, from 2000 - 2006, we had a Republican Congress and President, and I would've loved to have seen checks and balances then.
Stephanapolous said it is time for the undecideds to do their "gut check." After all the information that you've taken in, what it boils down to is that you should vote with what your gut tells you is right.
Good luck. I really don't envy the undecided voters.
