Thanks for the pics and report. It was interesting to see. We had a close shave with a hurricane in July of 2005. While in Jamaica, Hurricane Emily decided to brush by. They closed the airport the day we were to leave. We didn't get anything more than some heavy rain but it was hell getting off of the island. Tons of stranded tourists and no extra flights to get us home. They were cramming people on every flight out of there. After a very hot, sweaty, frustrating day at the airport, we realized it was fruitless. We ended up being there three extra days. Then, as we had uprooted from Negril, we had to find a new place to stay rather than go back to Negril. We really had no idea where to start. We ended up The Wyndham for two nights and just did the all inclusive thing for convenience. I couldn't get an adult beverage fast enough after that day at the airport . My trip insurance ended up covering all of my hotel cost.

Ugggh! Mother Nature.
