SoxFan22, Enough! You have over 70 political posts since Gromit first put up her poll. You're bogarting the joint, my friend. Go find some cheese. To go with the whine.

You know, I have a difficult time understanding why you and others are constantly asking me to let it go. It is true that I started this thread, but 6 or 8 people have replied, most of them questioning my character. In fact, most of you have been denigrating me for the last three days. I mean really, if you don't like the threads, please don't read them.

I have said nothing derogitory about anybody on this forum...When somebody posted something that was not factual, I said so. I did not call them stupid, or ignorant - and I certainly didn't keep posting some link to "Internet Personality Disorders".

Why can liberals not have an honest discussion without resorting to those tactics?

And please, don't worry about my wife and children...They are fine. I appreciated your concern, but really, all is well on the homefront. Trust me.

I confess that I, too, have "associated with" communists and socialists. They were my professors in college. I learned things from them.

In your world, am I now unfit for public office?

Give it a try. My impression is that the folks over there would love to have you aboard.

Particularly rich coming from the guy who has injected Oprah and Michael Jackson into the debate.

Are we still fighting the cold war? Is your #1 concern really that someone Obama knew as a child and young adult might be a communist?

There has to be a more relevant reason to be in support of John McCain. I know and respect people who will vote for John McCain. Their reasons have nothing to do with Obama's childhood mentor.

You are sounding a lot like John Mccain. Bringing up arguments that leave the vast majority of us shaking our heads in confusion because they are simply not relevant to the real issues at hand. And if your issue is really free market capitalism demise, that ship has sailed my friend.

How it is that John McCain can openly mock Obama as a "liberal" but then offer a socialist solution to the housing crisis is beyond me. Let's just buy up all those bad mortgages. But there I go again, trying to follow the logic. I get off track everytime when I do that.

lex, lex, lex...he doesn't want to go over there, because he wouldn't be getting the almost instant feedback and attention he's receiving here.

You've got to give the guy some credit. He's good at his game. See, I'm even posting, and I swore I wasn't going to play.

My concerns:

1. Obama will raise taxes (despite his 95% claim, which is BS) - JFK said..."The only way to increase revenue to the government is to lower taxes".

2. Obama's lack of experience and misunderstanding of economics 101 (but he sure knows marxism!)

BTW...The difference between a Capitalist and a Socialist? A Socialist reads Marx and Lenin...A Capitalist understands Marx and Lenin.

3. Obama's friendship with William Ayers, a man who bombed the Pentagon and a police station in NYC...On 911 he said he "wishes they had done more". He knew Obama very well on 911.

4. Obama's relationship with the racist Rev. Wright.

5. Obama's relationship with the communist Frank Marshall Davis.

I just finished reading "Dreams From My Father." Maybe you should read it before you misrepresent its contents.

Hey Sox, I appreciate your posts and wish you would continue. It's really sad that the Libs on here can only crucify the messenger not the message. It's hard for "them" to debate when you simply and respectfully present the facts.

I clicked on this because it said something about a warm and fuzzy story from someone who is a new dad. I was hoping it'd be about his darling daughter. Instead, it's the same Fox News talking points he injects into every thread on this forum. Shame on you. At least everyone else who's posted something political has identified it as such so those who are over your right-wing rants can avoid it if they'd like.

I had the opportunity to attend a talk with Ted Koppel this week. Ted Koppel, I'm sure, is in a tax bracket that none of us can even comprehend because he has zillions of dollars. Anyhow, Ted asked us if any of us thought that it was odd that we have had a war going on for five years, yet none of us have paid one additional dime in taxes. Apparently, this has never happened before in the United States. And considering my 401(k) is worthless, I'm guessing there is a good reason for that.

I personally am not completely sure that being a socialist is a bad thing. Capitalism sure as hell isn't working these days.

If we want to go in the vault of old friends, let's talk about John McCain and Keating. And, for the love of God, Republicans would be best off to not raise the character debate.
